Low Enrollment Pay for Adjuncts

If a bargaining unit member is notified that a class is being canceled as a result of low enrollment, the bargaining unit member in their discretion may agree to teach the class for reduced compensation, provided the compensation is at least $120 per student per credit.

In CLA we monitor enrollments as the semester start date approaches, we will send out low enrollment memos to any adjunct faculty whose class enrollment does not meet our desired minimums at least 30 days prior to the start of classes. If low enrollment pay is accepted we continue to process the HR contract for that adjunct faculty based on low enrollment pay. We then run a final enrollment report following the semester's add / drop deadline and will revise the low enrollment contract based on that enrollment report if the number of enrolled students has increased. An adjunct's pay will never be decreased if enrollment decreases after the add / drop date.

CLA Enrollment Minimums are listed below.
