Onboarding - Day One

On Day One - complete the following tasks

1. Meet with CLA HR Coordinators to ensure all HR paperwork is complete and nothing is pending. 

2. Meet with your direct supervisor and department chair for a general overview and discussion of expectations. Supervisor will then complete the following tasks, if applicable:

   1. 1. 1. Request Building Keys and Swipe Access

         2. Request DocuSign Account

         3. Provide Access to all appropriate CLA Google sheets, groups, directories, etc.

         4. Request UAF Computer Access (email, department email, department website, shared drives, etc.) to OIT

         5. Request access to CLSS and 25Live

3. Walk through Workspace with your supervisor. Request supplies or tech items if needed. 

4. New Employee Benefits Overview: You will automatically be signed up by a member of the benefits team. You will be scheduled for the first available overview after your hire date. If you have a scheduling conflict, please reach out to ua-benefits@alaska.edu to let us know. 5. Obtain Polar Express Card: Polar Express form Submit our electronic form, and upload a picture and government ID. Your card will be ready for pick up after 24 business hours. 

6. Purchase Parking Permit - Please visit https://uaf.edu/bursar/parkingservices/ to purchase a parking permit. You can do it online and have it mailed to your address or pick it up on campus. You will be able to print a temporary permit while you wait for it to arrive in the mail.

7. Direct Deposit Form - Direct Deposit can be set up using the following form: Direct Deposit Form. Your first paycheck may be a paper check sent to your HR address on file pending the set up of direct deposit. We recommend that you submit the direct deposit form as soon as possible once your job is in the system.

8. Log Into UAOnline and confirm your contact information is updated and current. If you need to submit an address change you can do so under the Personal Information tab at uaonline.alaska.edu if your address has changed since you submitted your new hire paperwork.

9.  Review the CLA Google Site

10. Complete the following trainings via  https://www.uaf.edu/safety/training/. Send the confirmation emails with the score to your supervisor

• Hazard Communications Training - Hazard Communication for Office Workers - must complete the attestation form

• Office Safety (General) (PowerPoint and Quiz)

• Slips, Trips and Falls (PowerPoint and Quiz)

• Combined Employee Safety Orientation (PowerPoint and Quiz)

• Protection of Minors for Non-Authorized Adults or Protection of Minors for Authorized Adults (for those working directly with minors)  (PowerPoint and Quiz)

Required training for all UAF employees must be completed within 30 days of hire or before undertaking specific activities identified as safety concerns by the supervisor or employee (UAF Required Training Policy 04.07.010)
