Vacations
The Vacation earning begins first day of the following month after 6-month Anniversary. For example, beginning vacation earning for STAFF member who joins the Company in January 16th is August 1st.
Full-Time STAFF and Part-time STAFF (regularly scheduled to work 100 hours or more per month) who complete 6-month of continuous services begin accruing 0.05 hours of Vacation time for every 1 hour worked. For example, 20 hour of work for one paid period , earn 1 hour of vacation)Non-exempt STAFF accrued Vacation time only for the hours the Non-exempt STAFF actually worked. Sick Leave or other paid time off, which is paid but is not worked will not be counted when calculating work hours for vacation accumulation purpose. For Exempt STAFF, a fixed 40-hours work will be counted for vacation accumulation purpose.
The minimum increment for Vacation is two (2) hours. STAFF are not allowed to use Vacation before it is accrued.
Staff Members may carry over unused accrued Vacation time to the following vacation year. However, Vacation accrual may not exceed the Maximum Allowable Accrual (Cap) indicated in the chart I below. Once this maximum is reached, all further accruals will cease. Vacation accrual will recommence after the Staff Member has used Vacation and his/her Vacation balance has dropped below the Maximum Allowable Accrual limit.
To render great service to the customers during the holiday season, STAFF members are not allowed to take Vacation Days November 20th through New Year’s Day.

You are required to obtain approval of your intended Vacation dates from your Direct Supervisor at least two (2) weeks before your requested Vacation date. Arrangements must also be made to ensure that someone will be available to handle your responsibilities if necessary while you are away. When evaluating Vacation requests, the Company will consider associating requirements, length of service, and your preferences, in that order. Business conditions may make it necessary to change your Vacation schedule or to limit your Vacation period to two (2) consecutive weeks at any time.
If you become ill during your Vacation, the time-off will be treated as Vacation. If, during your scheduled Vacation, our office/Stores must close because of weather conditions or other unusual circumstances, the time will be counted as Vacation. If you are absent without notice and/or approval for two (2) or more consecutive days, the Company will assume that you have voluntarily resigned your position. In addition, STAFF who take unapproved Vacation on a day that they are scheduled to work may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
In the event that a STAFF Member in California leaves the Company, 2nd Street USA Inc. will pay the STAFF Member for the accrued, but unused, Vacation time at the termination of employment.
