Recently we enjoyed hiking on the San Andreas Fault Trail at Los Trancos Preserve. San Andreas is the longest and most active fault in the world! Over time, the fault shifted conglomerate stones (like the one below) 23 miles north from their original location. The fault also ripped fences 3 feet apart during the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Isn’t geology interesting?
