Why Are My Prayers NOT Being Answered?

Father KNOWS BEST! "There are certain conditions upon which we may expect that God will hear and answer our prayers. One of the first of these is that we feel our need of help from Him" Steps to Christ, 93-95.“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” (1 John 5:14)Humble, Persevering Prayer Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. James 5:17, 18. OHC 133.1 Important lessons are presented to us in the experience of Elijah. When upon Mount Carmel he offered the prayer for rain, his faith was tested, but he persevered in making known his request unto God. OHC 133.2

The servant watched while Elijah prayed. Six times he returned from the watch, saying, There is nothing, no cloud, no sign of rain. But the prophet did not give up in discouragement. He kept reviewing his life, to see where he had failed to honor God.... As he searched his heart, he seemed to be less and less, both in his own estimation and in the sight of God. It seemed to him that he was nothing, and that God was everything; and when he reached the point of renouncing self, while he clung to the Saviour as his only strength and righteousness, the answer came. The servant appeared, and said, “Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand.” 1 Kings 18:34. OHC 133.3

We have a God whose ear is not closed to our petitions; and if we prove His word, He will honor our faith. He wants us to have all our interests interwoven with His interests, and then He can safely bless us; for we shall not then take glory to self when the blessing is ours, but shall render all the praise to God. God does not always answer our prayers the first time we call upon Him; for should He do this, we might take it for granted that we had a right to all the blessings and favors He bestowed upon us. Instead of searching our hearts to see if any evil was entertained by us, any sin indulged, we should become careless, and fail to realize our dependence upon Him.... OHC 133.4

Elijah humbled himself until he was in a condition where he would not take the glory to himself. This is the condition upon which the Lord hears prayer, for then we shall give the praise to Him.... God alone is worthy to be glorified. OHC 133.5.

“Nothing can justify an unforgiving spirit. He who is unmerciful toward others shows that he himself is not a partaker of God’s pardoning grace” (COL 251).

Many expect that God will keep them from sickness merely because they ask him to do so. But the prayers of those who do not regard the laws of life, God cannot answer, because their faith is not made perfect by works. When we do all on our part to insure health, then we may expect that good results will follow, and we can ask God in faith to bless our efforts. And he will answer our prayer, if his name can be glorified thereby. But let all understand that they have a work to do. God will not work in a miraculous manner to preserve the health of persons who are, by their careless inattention to the laws of health, taking asure course to make themselves sick. {CTBH 108.1}

Have you ever considered if you are, or ever have, violated the sixth Commandment?

Please ponder on these thoughts.

By means of dialogue, wise people have always tried to solve problems that emerged (Ruth 4:1-8; 2Sam.20:18).

They thought that opposition, quarrels, and, moreover, antagonism and revenge are beneath human dignity (Job 18:2-3).

These attributes exalted a man of God neither in the past nor today.

Evil was never overcome by evil.

Good and evil are opposite things. Good is a result of the marvellous work of the Holy Spirit, while evil is an invention and fruit of the spirit of the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience (Eph.2:2).

Christ’s teaching not only approved a kind and peace-loving disposition, but also strictly reproved any manifestation of disagreements and strife between brothers and sisters.

Christ taught, “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God” (Matt.5:9).

His words contain this plain but very important truth, “Ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away” (Matt.5:39-42).

When correctly and harmoniously understanding the letter and the spirit of the questions touched on by Jesus Christ, we will be able to rightly establish our relations not only in the midst of the church, but also in the outward world.

The Bible teaches, “Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men” (Rom.12:17-18).

Let us be faithful to the divine principles in our attitude towards each other and other people.

What advice does the Holy Bible give us regarding our practical life? Rom.12:18.

Rom.12:18: “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men”.

What is the meaning of “lieth” in us, when we are building our relations with our neighbors?

Please consider that it is our religious principles. It is our unity with Christ. It is moral purity and holiness that we as Christians should confess in word and deed among those who are around us.

Whom and what should we protect when we find ourselves in an unexpected situation, moreover a situation that is unacceptable for our spirit and soul?

Having put our personal interests aside, we should always defend the honour of God and the authority of His truth and Law. Thus we will protect ourselves against possible spiritual defilement that is inadmissible for us as God’s children.

Please note that In the Bible there are a few positive examples.

The two and a half tribes (Josh.22:11-31), Hannah (1Sam.1:12-18), David (2Sam.16:5-12) and many others behaved very nobly.

The Spirit of Prophecy says, “Nothing can justify an unforgiving spirit. He who is unmerciful toward others shows that he himself is not a partaker of God’s pardoning grace” (COL 251).

Christ taught that we may hope for the forgiveness of our sins in so far as we are able to forgive our neighbours (Matt.6:12).

How did Christ and His apostles teach to forgive personal offences and never revenge those who had offended you? Mark 11:25; Rom.12:19-20 (Luke 6:37).

Mark 11:25: And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Rom.12:19-20: Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Where and in what do human anger and revenge find feeding and base for themselves?

The Spirit of Prophecy testifies, “The heart in which love rules will not be filled with passion or revenge, by injuries which pride and self-love would deem unbearable” (5T168).

For all those who have overdeveloped their self-esteem, but, certainly, not a Christian dignity, whose self and pride keep them in the condition of constant tension, whose resentful and revengeful spirit is visible from the outside, it is good to know the following warnings of the Spirit of God...

“The spirit of hatred and revenge, or the indulgence of any passion that leads to injurious acts toward others, or causes us even to wish them harm ... all these are, to a greater or less degree, violations of the sixth commandment” (PP 308).

“Remember that a revengeful speech never makes one feel that he has gained a victory. Let Christ speak through you. Do not lose the blessing that comes from thinking no evil” (7T 243).

Can such negative traits of character be hidden under a mask of the form of godliness, and will it save a man from his deserved fate? Job 8:13 (Eccl.12:13-14; Job 35:14).

Job 8:13: So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish

The Spirit of Prophecy writes, “The law of God takes note of the jealousy, envy, hatred, malignity, revenge, lust, and ambition that surge through the soul, but have not found expression in the outward action; ... and these sinful emotions will be brought into account in the day when “God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil” (ML 163).

Please consider, and do you agree, that nothing can justify an unforgiving spirit?

"Could all see Christ before the throne, waiting for their prayers, waiting for them to surrender their will, to cease their rebellion and come back to their allegiance to God, in deep penitence they would pray the Father to forgive their transgression of His law, and forgive them for the influence they have exercised in causing others to disregard the law of Jehovah. The confederacies of the enemy's army are triumphing in their delay. Will they longer remain under the condemnation of the law? Or, will they stand on the side of Christ, and with their influence help the betrayed, rebellious race by their own experimental knowledge? Will they now become co-workers with Jesus Christ, who is making personal intercession for them before the Father? Angels are keeping back the destroying agencies, for they have an intense interest for these rebellious sons, and they want to help them to return to the fold in safety and peace, that they may finally be overcomers, and be saved, eternally saved with the family of God in heaven.—Manuscript 29, May 21, 1900, “Faithful Stewardship.” UL 155.5.

Many people are so wrapped up in themselves and their own lives, they fail to see how their own prayers to God can help someone else out who may be in a dire situation. One of the prayer secrets I will be discussing shortly is the power of intercession – the ability to stand in the gap for someone else, approach God as his advocate, and pray to God to help them out of a dire situation.

Many people do not really know how to properly approach and pray to God the Father, in the name of His Son, the Word of God. You must claim a promise to be praying IN THE SPIRIT (MY WORDS ARE SPIRIT and THEY ARE LIFE John 6:63). You must be living according to the Ten Commandments with the blood of Christ atoning for your sin because you have repented and turned from your past sins and asked for the blood of Jesus to cover your ancestral sins that may affect you as a fourth generation or tenth generation somewhere in your family line. As a result, people are either dying early before their time is really up, or they are forced to live under tragic circumstances due to no fault of their own. Accidents can happen because of unforgiven sins in your past or present. Bad things can happen, usually because of a sin in your life that is unforgiven. But prayers to God the Father can either prevent the bad things from happening before they happen, or they change the situation for the better once the bad thing has happened.

God Promises to Hear and Answer Prayer—Christ is the connecting link between God and man. He has promised His personal intercession by employing His name. He places the whole virtue of His righteousness on the side of the suppliant. Christ pleads for man, and man, in need of divine help, pleads for himself in the presence of God, using the power of the influence of the One who gave His life for the world. As we acknowledge before God our appreciation of Christ's merits, fragrance is given to our intercessions. Oh, who can value this great mercy and love! As we approach God through the virtue of Christ's merits, we are clothed with His priestly vestments. He places us close by His side, encircling us with His human arm, while with His divine arm He grasps the throne of the Infinite. He puts His merits, as sweet incense, in a censer in our hands, in order to encourage our petitions. He promises to hear and answer our supplications.—(SDA Bible Commentary 6:1078.) Pr 46.1.

The simple prayers indited by the Holy Spirit will ascend through the gates ajar, the open door which Christ has declared: I Pr 46.2 have opened, and no man can shut. These prayers, mingled with the incense of the perfection of Christ, will ascend as fragrance to the Father, and answers will come.—(Testimonies for the Church 6:467.) Pr 46.2.

I saw that every prayer which is sent up in faith from an honest heart will be heard of God and answered, and the one that sent up the petition will have the blessing when he needs it most, and it will often exceed his expectations. Not a prayer of a true saint is lost if sent up in faith from an honest heart.—(Testimonies for the Church 1:121.) Pr 47.1.

"Pray that the mighty energies of the Holy Spirit, with all their quickening, recuperative, and transforming power, may fall like an electric shock on the palsy-stricken soul, causing every nerve to thrill with new life, restoring the whole man from his dead, earthly, sensual state to spiritual soundness. You will thus become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust; and in your souls will be reflected the image of Him by whose stripes you are healed." Testimonies for the Church Volume 5, p. 267.2

Christ says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life;” and it is the privilege of every soul to make Christ his personal Saviour. You need not wait to grow good; you need not think that any effort of yours will make your prayers acceptable, and bring you salvation. Let each man and woman pray to God, not to man. Let each one come to Christ in humility, speak to him with your own lips. The request, “Will you pray for me?” has become simply a form of speech; you should pray to God for yourself, believing that he listens to every word you utter. Lay bare your heart for his inspection, confess your sins, asking him to forgive you, pleading the merits of the atonement, and then by faith contemplate the great scheme of redemption, and the Comforter will bring all things to your remembrance.

The more you study the character of Christ, the more attractive will he appear to you. He will become as one near you, in close companionship with you; your affections will go out after him. If the mind is molded by the objects with which it has most to do, then to think of Jesus, to talk of him, will enable you to become like him in Spirit and character. You will reflect his image in that which is great and pure and spiritual. You will have the mind of Christ, and he will send you forth to the world as his spiritual representative. He will be your only glory. You cannot affiliate with the world without becoming a partaker of its spirit, without becoming guilty of treason against the Lord who has bought you.

To pray as Nehemiah prayed in his hour of need is a resource at the command of the Christian under circumstances when other forms of prayer may be impossible. Toilers in the busy walks of life, crowded and almost overwhelmed with perplexity, can send up a petition to God for divine guidance. Travelers by sea and land, when threatened with some great danger, can thus commit themselves to Heaven's protection. In times of sudden difficulty or peril the heart may send up its cry for help to One who has pledged Himself to come to the aid of His faithful, believing ones whenever they call upon Him. In every circumstance, under every condition, the soul weighed down with grief and care, or fiercely assailed by temptation, may find assurance, support, and succor in the unfailing love and power of a covenant-keeping God.—(Prophets and Kings, 631, 632.) Pr 47.2

If We Ask, God Will Answer—It is a part of God's plan to grant us, in answer to the prayer of faith, that which He would not bestow did we not thus ask.—(The Great Controversy, 525.) Pr 47.3

God hears prayer. Christ has said, “If ye shall ask anything in My name, I will do it.” Again He says, “If any man serve Me, him will My Father honor.” John 14:14; John 12:26. If we live according to His word, every precious promise He has given will be fulfilled to Pr 47.4

us. We are undeserving of His mercy, but as we give ourselves to Him, He receives us. He will work for and through those who follow Him.—(The Ministry of Healing, 226, 227.) Pr 47.4

As you ask the Lord to help you, honor your Saviour by believing that you do receive His blessing. All power, all wisdom, are at our command. We have only to ask.—(The Ministry of Healing, 514.) Pr 48.1

God has a heaven full of blessings that He wants to bestow on those who are earnestly seeking for that help which the Lord alone can give.—(Sons and Daughters of God, 123.) Pr 48.2

Jesus Presents Our Poorly Worded Prayers to the Father—Every sincere prayer is heard in heaven. It may not be fluently expressed; but if the heart is in it, it will ascend to the sanctuary where Jesus ministers, and He will present it to the Father without one awkward, stammering word, beautiful and fragrant with the incense of His own perfection.—(The Desire of Ages, 667.) Pr 48.3

Strength to Overcome Temptation Given to Those who Pray—All are accountable for their actions while in this world upon probation. All have power to control their actions if they will. If they are weak in virtue and purity of thoughts and acts, they can obtain help from the Friend of the helpless. Jesus is acquainted with all the weaknesses of human nature, and, if entreated, will give strength to overcome the most powerful temptations. All can obtain this strength if they seek for it in humility.—(Child Guidance, 466, 467.) Pr 48.4

God Answers Our Prayers When and How He Sees Best—Every saint who comes to God with a true heart, and sends his honest petitions to Him in faith, will have his prayers answered. Your faith must not let go of the promises of God, if you do not see or feel the immediate answer to your prayers. Be not afraid to trust God. Rely upon His sure promise: “Ask, and ye shall receive.” Pr 48.5

Possible Reasons To Consider Why Your Prayers Are Not Being Answered OR are simply DELAYED ANSWERS. Make sure your prayers are not an abomination to God by not doing something we KNOW we should NOT be doing,

example if we know we should not be committing adultery, or having sex outside of marriage, and we do, our prayers go no higher than the ceiling.

But is the Son of God still drawing you to Himself? If you are pricked in your heart, wanting to do right, to stop sinning, this is Jesus drawing you to Himself. Pray these sample prayers here.

True FAITH is OBEDIENCE to the WORD OF GOD. THAT is WHY Jesus said, when I return, WILL I find FAITH? Will He find obedience to His WORDS? Christ came to echo His Father's WORDS to us, the Father's law, the Ten, rather Twelve Commandments, find them here. We are to echo Christ's WORDS. Do we know and understand them because we study them and practice them, live His words in all our daily choices? We can only do that by inviting the 100% human and 100% divine, supernatural Spirit of Christ to dwell in our body, our body temple, our house, our body is the "church" of Christ, and only those who obey God's 12 laws can be a temple for God filled with the character (glory) of God!

We all desire immediate and direct answers to our prayers, and are tempted to become discouraged when the

answer is delayed or comes in an unlooked-for form. But God is too wise and good to answer our prayers always at just the time and in just the manner we desire. He will do more and better for us than to accomplish all our wishes. And because we can trust His wisdom and love, we should not ask Him to concede to our will, but should seek to enter into and accomplish His purpose. Our desires and interests should be lost in His will. These experiences that test faith are for our benefit. By them it is made manifest whether our faith (obedience to His law and statutes) is true and sincere, resting on the word of God alone, or whether depending on circumstances, it is uncertain and changeable. Faith is strengthened by exercise. We must let patience have its perfect work, remembering that there are precious promises in the Scriptures for those who wait upon the Lord. MH 230.4Not all understand these principles. Many who seek the Lord's healing mercy think that they must have a direct and immediate answer to their prayers or their faith is defective. For this reason, those who are weakened by disease need to be counseled wisely, that they may act with discretion. They should not disregard their duty to the friends who may survive them, or neglect to employ nature's agencies for the restoration of health. MH 231.1"Often there is danger of error here. Believing that they will be healed in answer to prayer, some fear to do anything that might seem to indicate a lack of faith. But they should not neglect to set their affairs in order as they would desire to do if they expected to be removed by death. Nor should they fear to utter words of encouragement or counsel which at the parting hour they wish to speak to their loved ones" MH 231.2.

"Those who seek healing by prayer should not neglect to make use of the remedial agencies within their reach. It is not a denial of faith to use such remedies as God has provided to alleviate pain and to aid nature in her work of restoration. It is no denial of faith to co-operate with God, and to place themselves in the condition most favorable to recovery. God has put it in our power to obtain a knowledge of the laws of life. This knowledge has been placed within our reach for use. We should employ every facility for the restoration of health, taking every advantage possible, working in harmony with natural laws. When we have prayed for the recovery of the sick, we can work with all the more energy, thanking God that we have the privilege of co-operating with Him, and asking His blessing on the means which He Himself has provided" MH 231.3."We have the sanction of the word of God for the use of remedial agencies. Hezekiah, king of Israel, was sick, and a prophet of God brought him the message that he should die. He cried unto the Lord, and the Lord heard His servant and sent him a message that fifteen years should be added to his life. Now, one word from God would have healed Hezekiah instantly; but special directions were given, “Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaster upon the boil, and he shall recover Isaiah 38:21. MH 232.1.

“For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD Psalms 27:5, 6.

I asked the angel (of the LORD) why there was no more faith and power in Israel. He said: “Ye let go of the arm of the Lord too soon. Press your petitions to the throne, and hold on by strong faith. The Promises are sure! Believe ye receive the things ye ask for, and ye shall have them.” I was then pointed to Elijah. He was subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly. His faith endured the trial. Seven times he prayed before the LORD, and at last the cloud was seen.

I saw that we had doubted the sure Promises, and wounded the Saviour by our lack of faith (obedience to His law and statutes). Said the angel, “Gird the armor about thee, and above all take the shield of faith (obedience to His 12 Laws and His Statutes); for that will guard the heart (desires, daily little choices), the very life, from the fiery darts (lying words) of the wicked.” If the enemy can lead the desponding to take their eyes off from Jesus, and look to themselves, and dwell upon their own unworthiness, instead of dwelling upon the worthiness of Jesus, His love, His merits, and His great mercy, he will get away their shield of faith (obedience), and gain his object; they will be exposed to his fiery temptations (lying words). The weak should therefore look to Jesus, and believe in Him; they then exercise faith." - Christian Experience & Teachings p.125-127.

By faith Abraham obeyed (a verb of action on Abraham’s part) God’s call to leave his idolatrous family and go to a land unseen and unknown to him.

“And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear !”Isaiah 65:24Note: Jesus believed this Promise from His Father, and because He believed; because He had absolute faith and assurance in His Father’s spoken Word, His Father and ours granted His request.

Quote: “Christ lived a human life that He might be man's example in all things. He endured temptation even as every human being must endure. He believed God as we must believe ! He learned obedience even as we are required to learn obedience. And He overcame as we must overcome !” - Bible Echo, September 3, 1900.

PRAY UNTIL THE LIGHT SHINES THROUGH THE DARKNESS!

We would plead for power as a hungry child pleads for bread. If we realized the greatness of the Gift, if we desired the attainment of the Blessing, our petitions would ascend with earnestness, importunity, urgency. It would be as if we were at the gate of heaven, soliciting entrance.

Christ pleaded with His Father for power to overcome their unbelief, to break the fetters with which Satan had enthralled them, and to conquer the destroyer!

"If Christ's soldiers look faithfully to their Captain for their orders, success will attend their warfare against the enemy. No matter how they may be beset, in the end they will be triumphant. Their infirmities may be many, their sins great, their ignorance seemingly insurmountable; but if they realize their weakness, and look to Christ for aid, He will be their efficiency.... If they avail themselves of His power, their characters will be transformed; they will be surrounded with an atmosphere of light and holiness. Through His merits and imparted power they will be “more than conquerors.” Supernatural help will be given them, enabling them in their weakness to do the deeds of omnipotence.... HP 252.4.

"By faith they are to look calmly upon every foe, exclaiming: “We fight the good fight of faith, under the command of an omnipotent Power. Because He lives, we shall live also. Through Jesus ... we may withstand all the fiery darts of the enemy.” HP 252.5

Christ: "He pleaded with the Father for power to overcome their unbelief, to break the fetters with which Satan had enthralled them, and to conquer the destroyer" HLv 66.6.

"Never before had angels listened to such a prayer. The Father Himself would answer the petition of His Son. The heavens were opened, and upon the Saviour's head descended a dovelike form of purest light" HLv 67.1.

"Few at the Jordan except John discerned the heavenly vision. Yet the solemnity of the divine Presence rested on the assembly. Christ's upturned face was glorified as they had never before seen the face of man. From the open heavens a voice was heard: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” HLv 67.2.

Quote: “We do not ask for enough of the good things God has Promised. If we would reach up higher and expect more, our petitions would reveal the quickening Influence that comes to every soul who asks with the full expectation of being heard and answered. . . .

But if we allow the Spirit of the Living God to write the Ten Commandments into our hearts, and we continue on to walk after this internal law, then we shall receive the answers to our prayers, simply because we are pleasing God through our obedience to Him.

When we speak of faith, there is a distinction that should be borne in mind. There is a kind of belief that is wholly distinct from faith. The existence and power of God, the Truth of His Word, are facts that even Satan and his hosts cannot at heart deny. The Bible says that "the devils also believe, and tremble;" James 2:18-26.

But this is not faith. Where there is not only a belief in God's Word, but a submission of the will to Him; where the heart is yielded to Him, the affections fixed upon Him, there is faith --faith that works by love and purifies the soul.

Through this faith the heart is renewed in the image of God. And the heart that in its unrenewed state is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be, now delights in its holy precepts, exclaiming with the psalmist, "O how love I thy law! (Exodus 20:3-17) It is my meditation all the day." Psalm 119:97. And the righteousness of the law is fulfilled in us, "who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." Romans 8:1 & 8:6-11.

Faith earns nothing for us; it is the gift of God, which we may receive and cherish by making Christ our personal Saviour (Deliverer and Redeemer).

WHY is there a delay in God answering our prayers sometimes?

He Who blessed the nobleman at Capernaum is just as desirous of Blessing us. But like the afflicted father, we are often led to seek Jesus by the desire for some earthly good; and upon the granting of our request we rest our confidence in His love. The Saviour longs to give us a greater Blessing than we ask; and He delays the answer to our request that He may show us the evil of our own hearts, and our deep need of His grace. He desires us to renounce the selfishness that leads us to seek Him. Confessing our helplessness and bitter need, we are to trust ourselves wholly to His love.

The nobleman wanted to see the fulfillment of his prayer before he should believe; but he had to accept the Word of Jesus that his request was heard and the blessing granted. This lesson we also have to learn. Not because we see or feel that God hears us are we to believe. We are to trust in His Promises !

When we come to Him in faith (trust in God=positive anticipation), every petition enters the heart of God. When we have asked for His blessing, we should believe that we receive it, and thank Him that we have received it. Then we are to go about our duties, assured that the Blessing will be realized when we need it most.

When we have learned to do this, we shall know that our prayers are answered. God will do for us “exceeding abundantly,” “according to the riches of His glory,” and “the working of His mighty power.” “above all that we can ask or think . . . !” Ephesians 3:20, 16; 1:19. - Desire of Ages p.198-200

I can pray for the sick only in one way—“Lord, if it be in accordance with Thy will, for Thy glory and the good of the one who is sick, heal the sufferer, we pray. Not our will, but Thine be done.”

Snow White Miriam: After Aaron asked Moses to intercede for her, Moses uttered a five-word prayer:“O Lord, make her well,” and she recovered within seven days. (Numbers 12) A passage in Micah suggests she had a legacy with significant regard among later prophets: “And I brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, and I sent before you Moses, and Aaron, and Miriam.” (Micah 6:4)

For two or three years my mind continued to be locked to an understanding of the Scriptures. In the course of our labors, my husband and I visited Father Andrews, [December 1850] who was suffering intensely with inflammatory rheumatism. We prayed for him. I laid my hands on his head, and said, “Father Andrews, the Lord Jesus maketh thee whole.” He was healed instantly. He got up, and walked about the room, praising God, and saying, “I never saw it on this wise before. Angels of God are in this room.” The glory of the Lord was revealed. Light seemed to shine all through the house, and an angel’s hand wasnlaid upon my head. From that time to this I have been able to understand them Word of God (Special Testimonies, Series B, no. 2, pp. 57, 58; 1904)"And calleth those things which be not as though they already were." Romans 4:17

1 John 3:21, 22 “Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, "because" we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

"The way in which Christ worked was to preach the Word, and to relieve suffering by miraculous works of healing. But I am instructed that we cannot now work in this way, [Miracles will accompany the ministry of God’s people under the loud cry (see Chapter 14), but they will not have the significance they did in Christ’s day. The performing of miracles will no longer be a proof of divine endorsement.] for Satan will exercise his power by working miracles. God’s servants today could not work by means of miracles, because spurious works of healing, claiming to be divine, will be wrought"—Selected Messages 2:54 (1904).

Remember? Moses performing miracles and the Egyptian King's people also duplicated the miracles??? Same for these last days.

God’s people will not find their safety in working miracles, for Satan will counterfeit the miracles that will be wrought.—Testimonies for the Church 9:16 (1909).

Obedience IS the ONLY proof of Faith. Your Faith will take you as far as you believe. Take the limits off of God. When God strips you - you wake up. God will silence an adversary. David did not have a future until an enemy entered his life. To be an overcomer. We will always have a battle - always be engaged in spiritual warfare.

"Spiritualists claim superior light and power. They have opened the door and invited the prince of darkness in, and have made him their honored guest. They have allied themselves to the powers of darkness which are developing in these last days in signs and wonders, that if it were possible they would deceive the very elect. Spiritualists claim that they can do greater miracles than Christ did. Satan made the same boasts to Christ. Because the Son of God had linked himself to the weakness of humanity, to be tempted in all points like as man should be tempted, Satan triumphed over him, and taunted him. He boasted of his superior strength, and dared him to open a controversy with him.

Spiritualists are increasing in numbers. They will come to men who have the truth as Satan came to Christ, tempting them to manifest their power and work miracles, and give evidence of their being favored of God, and of their being the people who have the truth. Satan said to Christ, “If thou be the Son of God, command these stones that they be made bread.” Herod and Pilate asked Christ to work miracles when he was on trial for his life. Their curiosity was aroused, but Christ did not work a miracle to gratify them." RH April 1, 1875, par. 10

WHAT EXAMPLE OF PRAYER DID JESUS GIVE?

Mark 1:35 "In the morning, rising up a great while before day, He went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed" (Luke 6:12).

Believe the word of God and receive his blessings. If you're willing God will do the rest, but our "meat" is to DO the will of the one who sent us - Jesus.

Gal 6:7. Whatever you sow you will reap.

The Lord is not glorified by the tame supplications which show that nothing is expected. He desires every one who believes, to approach the throne of grace with earnestness and assurance. Do we realize the magnitude of the work in which we are engaged? If we did, there would be more fervency in our prayers. Our entreaties would rise before God with convincing earnestness. We would plead for power as a hungry child pleads for bread. If we realized the greatness of the Gift, if we desired the attainment of the Blessing, our petitions would ascend with earnestness, importunity, urgency. It would be as if we were at the gate of heaven, soliciting entrance.

I do not understand the tameness in the requests offered to God. We are to urge our way into the very Presence of God, into the Holy Place of the Most High. We are to plead for that which we most need,--the Bread of Life, the leaf from the Tree of Life. As Jacob wrestled with the angel, saying, “I will not let thee go, except thou bless me,” so we are to wrestle in prayer until we prevail. We are to ask with an urgency that will not be turned away, that expects God to bestow His blessings with a liberality that is an assurance to all fear.

“Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and His Maker, Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons, and concerning the work of My hands command ye Me. I have made the earth, and created man upon it. I, even My hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.” Isaiah 45:11. This is the Word of the LORD, which is Yea and Amen!

Then let your prayers be more fervent, more heavily weighted with faith and hope. Let the intensity of your desire be proportionate to the value of the object you wish to obtain" - Special Testimonies, August 7, 1901 par. 13.

“Because I go to My Father . . . Whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified (honoured) in the Son. If ye ask anything in My name, I will do it!” John 14:12-14

But is there a condition to this Promise?

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind (spirits) and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the LORD.”

James 1:5-7

For without faith it is impossible to please Him (Jehovah, Yehuwah): for he that cometh to God must believe that He is (I AM THAT I AM), and that He is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him !” Hebrews 11:6

“And in the morning, as they passed by, they (His disciples) saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto Him (Jesus), Master, behold, the fig tree which Thou cursedst is withered away.

And Jesus (Yehushua) answering saith unto them, Have faith in GOD!

For verily (of a Truth) I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith!

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them!” Mark 11:20-24.

“Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done ! And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive !” Matthew 21:21-22.

Can your heart hold what your mouth denies?

Can your heart (desires/daily choices) hold what your words deny?

"We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check" James 3:2 NIV.

God has PROMISED to GIVE us the WORDS to SPEAK so that we cannot be gainsaid nor resisted by ALL our adversaries in Luke 21:15!

"For I will give you words and wisdom (Spirit of Christ) that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict" Luke 21:15 NIV.

"In the Lord have I righteousness and strength" Isaiah 45:24.

Claim/present/invoke/pray this powerful verse (Luke 21:15) while fixing your mind on Jesus in the Most Holy Place in the Heavenly Sanctuary in the Third Heaven. As the believer bows in supplication (the action of asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly) before God, and in humility and contrition offers his petition from unfeigned (genuine; sincere) lips, keeping his eyes fixed steadily on the Mediator of the new covenant (Spirit of Christ writing the 12 Commandments to our daily choices), he loses all thought of self. His mind is filled with the thought of what he must have in order to build up a Christlike character. He prays, “Lord, if I am to be a channel through which thy love is to flow day by day and hour by hour, I claim by faith the grace and power that thou hast promised." He fastens his hold firmly on the promise, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.”

"Thou shalt also decree (declare=words from your mouth based on what you THINK, your thoughts, your IDEAS) a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways" Job 22:28 (KJV).

True faith rests on the Promises contained in the Word of God, and those only who obey (do) that Word can claim its glorious Promises.

    1. Perhaps it's because you have so little faith or have unbelief in the Word of God? God MEANS exactly what He says. He will do exactly every single thing He says. Believe it. Do not doubt for one second.

      1. Click here to learn how unrepented sin in your life or the sin(s) of a family member in your family tree could be keeping your prayers from being answered.

    1. We need to go by FAITH into the Throne Room of God to pray, into the secret place of God to really start getting answers to our prayers - you can do this anytime, by faith, even while driving down the road!

        1. "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide (rest) under the shadow of the Almighty" Psalm 91:1.

        2. "In Him and through faith in Him we may enter God's presence with boldness and confidence" Ephesians 3:12.

  1. Sin in our lives. Confess and repent! The psalmist wrote, "If I had cherished sin in my heart, the LORD would not have listened" Ps. 66:18. Not that God is unable to hear, for He is omniscient, but that He maintains His distance when we allow sin to be a wall between us. Disobedience to God's 12 Commandments and His Statutes sets us up for unanswered prayer: "When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the Lord will not answer you in that day" l Sam. 8:18.

    1. Because you have generational sin in your life (even past sins that you are not doing anymore, but have not repented of?) or in your parents, grandparents or ancestors lives that is putting a curse on you and your household.

    1. "Do everything without complaining and arguing(murmurings and disputings)" Philippians 2:14.

      1. "And do not complain, as some of them did, and were killed by the destroying angel" Corinthians 10:10.

    2. Are you eating Babylonian (pagan, heathen) acid forming foods or Heavenly Manna alkaline forming foods? Food either clouds or clears your brain so you can hear and understand Jesus' voice, His Spirit talking to you. The food you eat determines your ability to understand and do truth. Your food choices WILL determine, whether you KNOW it or NOT your eternal destiny. For example, God says if you eat swine you will be destroyed in the end ("those who eat the flesh of pigs and other disgusting creatures, like mice--they will all be destroyed together," says the LORD" Isaiah 66:17). If you even touch a pig you are unclean. God said it, I believe it and that settles it for me. Unbelief in the Word of God is the GREATEST SIN. The Word of God IS Jesus per Rev. 19:13. You should be teaching your children. You should be instructing them how to shun the vices and corruptions of this age.

      1. "The physical nature will be brought into conflict with the spiritual nature. . . . He [God] cannot enlighten the mind of a man who makes a cesspool of his stomach. He does not hear the prayers of those who are walking in the light of the sparks of their own kindling" —Counsels on Health, p. 576.

      2. "The unhealthful food placed in the stomach strengthens the appetites that war against the soul, developing the lower propensities. A diet of flesh-meat tends to develop animalism. A development of animalism lessens spirituality, rendering the mind incapable of understanding truth"—Counsels on Health, p. 574.

        4. Christians should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise, and this preparation they should make by diligently studying the Word of God and striving to conform their lives to its precepts.--Prophets and Kings, p. 626 (c. 1914).

            1. "It is the indulgence of appetite and passion which makes the truth of none effect upon the heart. It is impossible for the spirit and power of the truth to sanctify a man, soul, body, and spirit, when he is controlled by appetite and passion"—Testimonies, vol. 3, p. 570.

            2. "It is not possible for us to glorify God while living in violation of the laws of life. The heart cannot possibly maintain consecration to God while lustful appetite is indulged. A diseased body and disordered intellect, because of continual indulgence in hurtful lust, make sanctification of the body and spirit impossible" —Counsels on Diet and Foods, p. 44.

            3. "It [sanctification] is not merely a theory, an emotion, or a form of words, but a living, active principle, entering into the everyday life. It requires that our habits of eating, drinking, and dressing, be such as to secure the preservation of physical, mental, and moral health, that we may present to the Lord our bodies—not an offering corrupted by wrong habits, but—`a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God.' "—Temperance, p. 19.

            4. "God requires of His people continual advancement We need to learn that indulged appetite is the greatest hindrance to mental improvement and soul sanctification. . . . Let the individual who is seeking to possess purity of spirit bear in mind that in Christ there is power to control the appetite."—Counsels on Diet and Foods, p. 127.

            5. "The controlling power of appetite will prove the ruin of thousands, when, if they had conquered on this point, they would have had moral, power to gain the victory over every other temptation of Satan."—Counsels on Health, p. 574.

              2. "Many who are now only half converted (half practicing/only leave off "unclean" meats and not all animal derived products like eggs, cheese, butter, dairy of all kinds, ice cream, cream cheese, whey, cottage cheese, yogurt, products MADE with EGGS, BUTTER, in or ON it, DAIRY, etc) on the question of meat eating WILL go from God’s people to walk no more with them" — Councils on Diet and Foods, p. 382;

      3. Instead of this, many are studying how to get something good to eat. You place upon your tables butter, eggs, and meat, and your children partake of them. They are fed with the very things that will excite their animal passions, and then you come to a meeting and ask God to bless and save your children. How high do your prayers go? You have a work to do first. When you have done all for your children which God has left for you to do, then you can with confidence claim the special help that God has promised to give you. God has declared his will, and it is absolute madness (under the control of demons) for men to change or even question that which has gone out of his lips. 1. Perhaps you are worshiping the popular gods of the heathens around you intellectually? Only the one and only true and living God of Heaven can perform true miracles. Truth is NOT popular. Joseph, when honored by the Egyptians, did not conceal his loyalty to God. Elijah, amid the general apostasy, did not seek to hide the fact that he served the God of heaven. Baal's prophets numbered four hundred and fifty, his priests, four hundred, and his worshipers were thousands; yet Elijah did not try to make it appear that he was on the popular side. He grandly stood alone. The mountain was covered with people full of eager expectation. The king came in great pomp, and the idolaters, confident of triumph, shouted his welcome. But God had been greatly dishonored. One man, and only one man, appeared to vindicate the honor of God. With clear, trumpetlike tones Elijah addressed the vast multitude: “How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him.” The result was that the Lord God, who ruleth in the heavens, was vindicated, and the Baal worshipers were slain. Where are the Elijahs of today?

        1. Ephesians 5:22-33 (KJV):

    1. Learn how praising and thanking God per Psalm 100:4 allows you toEnter Into The Secret Hiding Place of God and THAT is WHERE you REALLY START GETTING ANSWERS TO YOUR PRAYERS!Are you grumbling and complaining about anything? God hates it when people grumble and complain.

          1. 22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband" Ephesians 5:22-33 (KJV).

          2. 'To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,' says the Lord of Heaven's Armies.

          3. "The man who hates and divorces his wife," says the LORD, the God of Israel, "does violence to the one he should protect," says the LORD Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful" Mal 2:16 NIV.

            1. DID YOU KNOW THERE IS A LOT OF MEN WHO CANNOT GET A PRAYER ANSWERED BECAUSE THEY HAVE DIVORCED A WOMAN?

          4. Have you ever asked God to forgive you for that? They will say "no". Well you are not ever going to get a prayer answered until you ask Him. And so, when men learn they have to love their wives like Christ loved the church, they have to ask God to forgive them if they have made a mistake 2, 3 or 4 times...I've seen men and women who have made that mistake 5, 6, 7 and 8 times. But if you come to Him, you've learned the truth, and you say, "Lord, I am sorry, I'm sorry I've divorced all these women, or wife, I've divorced all these husbands, I will walk in obedience to your Word, I will love you." HE WILL FORGIVE YOU! AND YOU CAN START OVER AGAIN. BUT THIS TIME, YOU MUST OBEY THE WORD OF GOD! IF YOU KNOW THE TRUTH AND DON'T OBEY IT, AND DIVORCE ANOTHER ONE, YOU BETTER GET READY TO GET SICK OR DIE EARLY BECAUSE GOD WILL NOT TOLERATE THAT MUCH LONGER. I can see why God has no problem in breaking a man's arm in a car wreck to save his soul.

          5. GOD HATES THESE THINGS! AND IF WE DO THEM WE WILL STAND BEFORE GOD, THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS CONDEMNED BY OUR OWN WORDS AND ACTIONS: IF WE UNDERSTOOD HOW MUCH GOD HATES THESE THINGS WE WOULD BE TREMBLING BEFORE GOD!

          6. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. 1 Corinthians Ch.6:15-20

          7. It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. 1 Thessalonians Ch.4:3-7

          8. But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew Ch.5:28

        1. "But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.' 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Mark Ch.10:6-9. This is one of the TWIN INSTITIONS setup during creation week!

        2. Be happy, yes, rejoice in the wife of your youth. Proverbs Ch.5:18

        3. Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry. But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 1 Corinthians 7:1-5

        4. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." Genesis Ch.1:27-28

        5. Has not the LORD made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth. Malachi Ch.2:15

        6. Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Hebrews Ch.13:4

        7. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Colossians Ch.3:5-8

        8. But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment; whoever does so destroys himself. Proverbs Ch.6:23-32

        9. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians Ch.6:11

          1. IF YOU CALL YOURSELF A CHRISTIAN? HE IS TRYING TO WAKE YOU UP! SO YOU WILL REPENT AND CHANGE YOUR WAYS BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!

          1. God's Word contains literally thousands of Bible promises waiting to be claimed in faith. The strength and faith of Jesus is knowing and trusting that God will honor His Word. Speak like Jesus did, with a "It is Written" and a "Thus Saith the Lord". Bible verse promises like John 6:37 "Him that cometh unto me, I will in no wise cast out".

Then the disciples approached Jesus privately and said, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" Matthew 17:19.

"Because you have so little faith." He answered. "For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you" Matthew 17:20.

Then Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment" Matthew 17:18.

"Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting" Matthew 17:21.

In my humble opinion, I believe this does not mean, just fasting from "foods" etc...

It means abstaining from every evil thing.

You must ask Jesus to show you what is in your life that you need to get out of your life, or that you need to change so that you can fully manifest (truly practice the golden rule) the Spirit of Christ and perform miracles.

Claim Jeremiah 33:3 and God WILL show you. You can depend on that. Seek God faithfully in prayer. God WILL answer you in some way.

"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not" Jeremiah 33:3.

This is my tested and tried verse to claim - and is HOW I LEARNED and am learning more every day how to perform miracles in the NAME of Jesus. Claim Jeremiah 33:3. It is a powerful verse and you can ask God anything and claim it sincerely and do not cast away your confidence, because God WILL answer your petition.

"So do not throw away your confidence (belief that one can rely on God's promises; firm trust.); it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised" Hebrews 10:35-36 (NIV).

PATHWAY TO GOD'S THRONE

"Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend. Not that it is necessary in order to make known to God what we are, but in order to enable us to receive Him. Prayer does not bring God down to us, but brings us up to Him.

"When Jesus was upon the earth, He taught His disciples how to pray. He directed them to present their daily needs before God, and to cast all their care upon Him. And the assurance He gave them that their petitions should be heard, is assurance also to us.

"Jesus Himself, while He dwelt among men, was often, in prayer. Our Saviour identified Himself with our needs and weakness, in that He became a suppliant, a petitioner, seeking from His Father fresh supplies of strength, that He might come forth braced for duty and trial. He is our example in all things. He is a brother in our infirmities, 'in all points tempted like as we are'; but as the sinless one His nature recoiled from evil; He endured struggles and torture of soul in a world of sin. His humanity made prayer a necessity and a privilege. He found comfort and Joy in communion with His Father. And if the Saviour of men, the Son of God, felt the need of prayer, how much more should feeble, sinful mortals feel the necessity of fervent, constant prayer.

"Our heavenly Father waits to bestow upon us the fullness of His blessing. It is our privilege to drink largely at the fountain of boundless love. What a wonder it is that we pray so little! God is ready and willing to hear the sincere prayer of the humblest of His children, and yet there is much manifest reluctance on our part to make known our wants to God. What can the angels of heaven think of poor helpless human beings, who are subject to temptation, when God's heart of infinite love yearns toward them, ready to give them more than they can ask or think, and yet they pray so little and have so little faith? The angels love to bow before God; they love to be near Him. They regard communion with God as their highest Joy; and yet the children of earth, who need so much the help that God only can give, seem satisfied to walk without the light of His Spirit, the companionship of His presence.

"The darkness of the evil one encloses those who neglect to pray. The whispered temptations of the enemy entice them to sin; and it is all because they do not make use of the privileges that God has given them in the divine appointment of prayer. Why should the sons and daughters of God be reluctant to pray, when prayer is the key in the hand of faith to unlock heaven's storehouse, where are treasured the boundless resources of Omnipotence? Without unceasing prayer and diligent watching we are in danger of growing careless and of deviating from the right path.

"There are certain conditions upon which we may expect that God will hear and answer our prayers. One of the first of these is that we feel our need of help from Him." Steps to Christ, 93-95
