Is the Son Equal with His Father? In authority! The Son is NOT his own Father and God.
"To pray in Christ's name means much. It means that we are to accept His character, manifest His spirit, and work His works. The Saviour's promise is given on condition. If ye love Me, He says, keep My commandments. He saves men, not in sin, but from sin; and those who love Him will show their love by obedience" The Desire of Ages, 668.
"If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love" John 15:7. See John 15:10 as well.
John 5:18:The Father and the Son
…17But Jesus answered them, “To this very day My Father is at His work, and I too am working.” 18Because of this, the Jews tried all the harder to kill Him. Not only was He breaking the Sabbath,but He was even calling God His own Father,making Himself equal with God. 19So Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself, unless He sees the Father doing it. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does.…John 5:18

So, if we call God and His Son our Father's, are we also making ourselves equal with God? In His express image? Let this MIND (law of God) be in YOU that was IN Christ Jesus?
Leviticus 24:16
'Moreover, the one who blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him. The alien as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.

And this was John's testimony when the Jews of Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him, "Who are you?"
And the man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
Now because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jews began to persecute Him.
But Jesus answered them, "To this very day My Father is at His work, and I too am working."
After this, Jesus traveled throughout Galilee. He did not want to travel in Judea, because the Jews there were trying to kill Him.
"We are not stoning You for any good work," said the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because You, who are a man, declare Yourself to be God."
"We have a law," answered the Jews, "and according to that law He must die, because He declared Himself to be the Son of God."
Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to cling to,
"I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High" Psalms 82:6.
"Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?" John 10:34.
"or though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)" 1 Cor 8:5.
"If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken [set aside];" John 10:35.
"Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?" John 10:36. (or in NIV "what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'?")
