Josiah Litch 1809-1886 = “the prophecy that converted a thousand infidels”
In 1838-1840 Josiah Litch, a leader in the Advent (Millerite) movement, published his
exposeʼ on Revelation Chapter 9 and said that a certain event involving the Ottoman (Muslim) power in Turkey would transpire on August 11, 1840. When the exact event happened on the very day predicted, the Adventist interpretation of this prophecy, and therefore of the Bible, could no longer be disputed. It was called “the prophecy that converted a thousand infidels”. It gave an impetus to the Midnight Cry such as nothing else could have at the beginning of this movement. Daniel 11:45 is designed by God to give the same impetus to the Loud Cry at the end of this movement, just as probation is closing. The King in his Beauty = siting on the Throne of David = the 144,000. This is one of the best sermons you will ever have the opportunity to
hear. It was preached by Charles Fitch in 1843. It is a sermon that is the 2nd angel's message found in Rev 14:8. This man preached it with such zeal that he died doing it. The Throne of David is the 144,000 - one of which we are all privileged to become one of that number if we strive diligently to do so. We can be filled with Christ and become HIS representatives on earth as many have already become....when this number, 144,000 is made up - and it almost is made up - THEN Christ will stand up and say it is finished and Armageddon will occur. "The church [triumphant = not the church militant] is the bride, the Lamb's wife. She should keep herself pure, sanctified, holy. Never should she indulge in any foolishness; for she is the bride of a King. Yet she does not realize her exalted position. 7-9 (Ephesians 5:23-25; see EGW comment on Revelation 7:9). God is the husband of His church. The church is the bride, the Lamb's wife. Every true believer is a part of the body of Christ. Christ regards unfaithfulness shown to Him by His people as the unfaithfulness of a wife to her husband. We are to remember that we are members of Christ's body (Letter 39, 1902). 7BC 985.9
(Revelation 3:4; Revelation 7:14; Revelation 16:15.) Clean Garments—The church is the bride of Christ, and her members are to yoke up with their Leader. God warns us not to defile our garments (Letter 123a, 1898).
This happened Oct 22, 1844 and God is still picking a Bride for His Son from those who live during the Third Angel's message era until probation closes when Turkey secedes from the European Union - very soon! Put on the wedding garment! Follow Christ by faith into the Most Holy Place in the Heavenly Sanctuary and become a Bride of Christ! When the 144,000 number is made up - then Christ will come to receive His Bride unto Himself - that where HE IS - there we may be also!!! Start doing the old SDA Three Angel's Messages in your daily choices! Start practicing what we should have been doing for decades! Studying the old SDA pioneers books, articles, sermons and tracts! Josiah Litch stood virtually alone when he published his interpretation to the world because the brethren were afraid that if it turned out to be wrong it would destroy the movement. Nonetheless, it was perfectly fulfilled. His interpretation has long been forgotten by the world and the credibility of Adventism has long been trampled in the mire for more than 60 years now. Yet, we must ask, if God used an event in the Middle East at the beginning of this movement to prove that the historic Adventist interpretation of prophecy is correct; wouldnʼt it seem perfectly logical and consistent that God would use a similar event at the close of this message?

If the literal fulfillment of this prophecy can be published to the world before the event happens, just as Josiah Litchʼs interpretation was published just before it happened, it would be a strong impetus in Godʼs hands for the salvation of multitudes. James White said it “will give great confirmation of faith in the soon loud cry and close of our message”. When those who have been deceived by the fallen SDA 501c3 non-profit, tax-exempt churches see this prophecy literally fulfilled, they will finally realize that the original SDA early pioneer Adventist interpretation of Daniel 11 is irrefutably correct. And as Jesus lingers at the golden altar, waiting to save even one more soul, those who are honest will be convicted that our interpretation of the Sabbath and the True God is also true. This will be the impetus, the “great confirmation of faith”, to then be able to give them the knowledge they need to refuse the Marks of the Beast [Trinity, Sunday worship, Immortality of the soul, Eucharist, can't be sin-free etc] and to receive the Seal of God.
"Then I saw that Jesus would not leave the Most Holy Place until every case was decided either for salvation or destruction, and that the wrath of God could not come until Jesus had finished his work in the Most Holy Place, laid off his priestly attire and clothed himself with the garments of vengeance. Then Jesus will step out from between the Father and man, and God will keep silence no longer; but pour out his wrath on those who have rejected his truth (Jesus is the TRUTH, He said "I am the Truth" John 14:6). I saw that the anger of the nations (Great Brittian, France, Russia & United States of North America per Joesph Bates), the wrath of God, and the time to judge the dead, were separate events, one following the other. I saw that Michael had not stood up, and that the time of trouble, such as never was, had not yet commenced. The nations are now getting angry, but when our High Priest has finished his work in the Sanctuary, he will stand up, put on the garments of vengeance, and then the seven last plagues will be poured out. I saw that the four angels would hold the four winds until Jesus’ work was done in the Sanctuary, and then will come the seven last plagues. These plagues enraged the wicked against the righteous, and they thought that we had brought them down upon them, and if they could rid the earth of us, then the plagues would be stayed. A decree went forth to slay the saints, which caused them to cry day and night for deliverance. This was the time of Jacob’s trouble. Then all the saints cried out with anguish of spirit, and were delivered by the voice of God. Then the 144,000 triumphed. Their faces were lighted up with the glory of God. Then I was shown a company who were howling in agony. On their garments was written in large characters, “Thou art weighed in the balance, and found wanting.” I asked who this company were. The angel said, “These are they who have once kept the Sabbath and have given it up.” (professed Adventists who worship the trinity and break the Sabbath) I heard them cry with a loud voice, “We have believed in thy coming, and taught it with energy.” And while they were speaking, their eyes would fall upon their garments and see the writing, and then they would wail aloud. I saw that they had drunk of the deep waters, and fouled the residue with their feet—trodden the Sabbath under foot, and that is why they were weighed in the balance and found wanting." My brethren, the value of the evidences of truth that we have received during the past half century, is above estimate. These evidences are as treasure hidden in a field. Search for them. Study the Bible truths that for fifty years have been calling us out from the world. Present this evidence in clear, plain lines. Those who have been long in the truth and those who have recently received the truth must now dig for the buried heavenly treasure. Let every man work to the point. Study the word of God. Claim the Genesis 27:26-29 blessing for you and your household and all that are His People in the Most Holy Place in the Heavenly Sanctuary in the Third Heaven now!

Those who stand before the people as teachers of truth are to grapple with great themes. They are not to occupy precious time in talking of trivial subjects. Let them study the Word, and preach the Word. Let the Word be in their hands as a sharp, two-edged sword. Let it testify to past truths and show what is to be in the future are to shape our lives and that by us are to be proclaimed to the world. “The third angel's message was, and still is, a WARNING to the saints [TODAY = 2016!] to "hold fast," and not go back, and "receive" the marks (of the Papal beast=TRINITY, SUNDAY WORSHIP, Sprinkling) which the virgin band got rid of, during the second angel's [1843-1844] cry” —A Word to the "Little Flock" JAMES WHITE, Topsham, Maine April 21, 1847.
"The greatest fault we can find in the Reformation is, the Reformers stopped reforming. Had they gone on, and onward, till they had left the last vestige of Papacy behind, such as natural immortality, sprinkling, the trinity, and Sunday- keeping, the church would now be free from her unscriptural errors” —James White, February 7, 1856, Review & Herald, vol. 7, no. 19, page 148, par. 26.
Sadly, Godʼs people have been taught for the last 60 years that the literal interpretation of Daniel 11:45 destroys our understanding of the Papacy. But instead of destroying it, the literal understanding enhances our understanding of the Papacy. The Papacy is behind it all, and will ultimately come out on top as the “spiritual” power underpinning the image of the beast for “one hour” (Revelation 17:12). The “one hour” continues through the plagues as the image of the beast, while giving homage to the beast, rules over a kingdom of men upon whom God has pronounced the sentence of eternal death. The Papacy is the “spiritual” power behind it all, but will never be completely restored to her former temporal dominion according to Daniel 7:26.
But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his [the Papacyʼs temporal] dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. Daniel 7:26
Consider also the following inspired comments:
[Revelation 17:13, 14 quoted.] “These have one mind.” There will be a universal bond of union, one great harmony, a confederacy of Satan’s forces. “And shall give their power and strength unto the beast.” Thus is manifested the same arbitrary, oppressive power against religious liberty, freedom to worship God according to the dictates of conscience, as was manifested by the papacy, when in the past it persecuted those who dared to refuse to conform with the religious rites and ceremonies of Romanism. S.D.A. Bible Commentary Vol. 7, page 983 (emphasis supplied)
Through the agency of Romanism, Satan took the world captive. The professed church of God was swept into the ranks of this delusion, and for more than a thousand years the people of God suffered under the dragon’s ire. And when the Papacy, robbed of its strength, was forced to desist from persecution, John beheld a new power coming up to echo the dragon’s voice, and carry forward the same cruel and blasphemous work. One of the major problems with making the Papacy the King of the North is that it strongly implies, and some declare outright, that the Papacy will be completely restored to full dominion. That will not happen, although she will come very, very close. If you read the Spirit of Prophecy very carefully you will see that Ellen White always stops just short of restoring the Papacy to full dominion. It will be the image of the beast that holds dominion, while giving homage to the beast, until the end.
Those who continue to follow the wrong interpretation of the prophecy will fall into Satanʼs trap; looking for the Papacy to be resurrected to its complete temporal dominion and then to “come to his end” as probation is closing. I repeat, this will not happen. The Papacy will never be able to fully reclaim the throne of the world, and will not be destroyed until the second coming of Christ. (Study II Thessalonians 2:3-8.) Most are teaching that “the deadly wound” of the Papacy began to be healed in 1929, implying a complete restoration to world dominion. If “the deadly wound” wasnʼt healed until 1929 that would be the resurrection of a dead beast, not the healing of a live one. How could the beast receive a deadly wound in 1798 and continue to live until 1929? “The deadly wound” was initially healed in 1800 when Napoleon reinstated the Papacy and brought the College of Cardinals back together. That healing process will continue until, just before the coming of Christ, the multitudes realize they are lost and turn on her and “eat her flesh and burn her with fire”. (Revelation 17:16)
This teaching of Papal world dominion will confuse those who are looking for her to be completely reinstated and then come to her end as probation is closing. Their faith will be destroyed just when they need it most. However, if we can recognize the final way-mark that shows us that probation is closing, our faith will be solidified just when we need it most.
"I saw that Satan was at work … just now in this sealing time. I saw some who were not firmly planted on the truth, and the covering of Almighty God could not be drawn over them. Satan was trying his every art to hold them where they were, until the sealing was past, until the covering was drawn over God’s people, and they left without a shelter from the burning wrath of God, in the seven last plagues" Early Writings, page 44.
"And in their mouth was found no guile (no false doctrines aka "marks" of the beast or doctrines of the beast): for they are without fault (speak the truth) before the throne of God" Revelation 14:5 (KJV).
