Americans Can Save Big Prescription $$$

We are to urge our way into the very Presence of God, into the Holy Place of the Most High into His Throne room. We are to plead for that which we most need,--the Bread of Life, the healing leaf (Ezekiel 47:12) from the Tree of Life. As Jacob wrestled with the angel, saying, “I will not let thee go, except thou bless me,” so we are to wrestle in prayer until we prevail. We are to ask with an urgency that will not be turned away, that expects God to bestow His blessings with a liberality that is an assurance to all fear.

Plead for power as a hungry child pleads for bread. If we realized the greatness of the Gift, if we desired the attainment of the Blessing, our petitions would ascend with earnestness, importunity, urgency. It would be as if we were at the gate of heaven, soliciting entrance.

"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal" 2 Corinthians 4:18.

  • "Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise" Jeremiah 17:14.

  • "For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD..." Jeremiah 30:17.

  • "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he hath committed sins, they shall be forgiven him" James 5:14-15.

For the past 20 years, since 1996, I helped people across America and it's territories access programs that are called "Patient Assistance Programs" sponsored by the pharmaceutical manufacturers. Programs created by pharmaceutical companies to provide free or discounted medicines to people who are unable to afford them. Each program has its own qualifying criteria.

The problem? There are over 800 programs available. I initially started this project as a hobby to help family and friends save money on their prescriptions, and was overwhelmed by requests. I had to start charging a small fee to offset my time and expense involved.

I charged a minimal fee per each drug requested. And it was not just one-time help either! Once the medications were approved and the doctor signed off on it, the supply of expensive BRAND NAME prescriptions rolled in month after month, year after year by following the directions outlined. If the medication they were taking was not available through one of the 800 programs, I would ask them to ask their doctor if there was an alternative brand name medication for it. If they were taking generics that a brand name drug was not available, I would ask them to check with their doctor or pharmacist for an alternative brand name drug. Usually, drug manufacturers are in hot competition for sick people's business; trying to all sell the same type of drug to get a piece of the pie. There are many drugs available for the same disease. Sometimes, I would ask the doctor if he could double the dose and then cut the drug in half, to save 50%. But those were rare cases. Most all prescriptions are available on a free or low-cost program today. (Sometimes a dispensing fee is charged by a pharmacy to hand out the free pills, you can ask them to waive this fee and sometimes they will) If did not receive in value savings more than they paid me, I would gladly refund their complete processing, research, and handling fee. So it was a win-win for my patients.

Example savings: Say a patient takes a generic drug. They COULD be getting a BRAND NAME drug completely free of charge from a pharmaceutical-sponsored "patient assistance program". So, now they are not taking a "generic" drug, but rather a more expensive "BRAND NAME" drug. And on top of that, upon approval, they received it completely free, year after year, as long as they maintained their renewal application.
