Capmany, in L'altra ciutat, offers us images of Serrallo in various moments of the novel. In the very first chapter we already have the first reference, where the contrast of smells stands out: that of the sea and that of fish.
Further on, we find another interesting fragment. In this case it describes the sea seen from the beach and the work taking place among the boats.
And there are a couple more fragments from Serrallo where Campany shows us the fisherman's work in selling fish and through the character's eyes she explains how the fishmongers’ market worked.
