Learn: Appreciate the families that God has given us. Understand that we thank our families by loving them.
Video: Watch the video We Are a Family. Discuss with your child all the ways you show love for each other.
YC Family Supplies: Make the Chapter 7 "God Gives Us Families" craft, using your YC Family Supplies.
Video: Watch The Lost Son from the Beginner Bible. God is like a loving father. Jesus told this story about a loving father.
Book Video: Listen to the book, How to Babysit a Grandma, by Jean Reagan. Discover all the best ways to spend time together with your Grandma. Using materials at home, help your child make a card of thanks to give a Grandparent.
Prayer: At bedtime, say a prayer of thanks for each member of your family. Say each family member's name separately, followed by, "Thank you God for their love".
Complete one:

Learn: Appreciate that God gives us friends. God wants friends to care for one another.
Activity: Create a Friendship Flower. Using materials from home cut 6 flower petals and a center circle. On each petal write the names of your child's friends. Write "We Are Friends" on the center circle. Glue the petals to the circle to create a flower. Display the friendship flower in a special place.
Faith Blooms: Help your child realize that God wants friends to care for each other. Ask your child the following questions and discuss answers: What do friends do together? What do friends do to show they care for one another? How do your friends help you? Explain to your child that being a good friend means sharing, caring and helping one another.
Prayer Activity: Pray the action prayer, Thank you for our Friends, together make the accompanying movements.

Learn: Appreciate the neighbors and community God has given us. Learn who our neighbors and community members are and how they show God's love.
Video: Watch The Good Samaritan bible story. Ask your child how the Good Samaritan showed us how to be a good neighbor. Discuss ways your family can be a good neighbor.
Activity: Make Saint Puppets. Saints are wonderful examples of people who loved God and others. Pages 194-196 of the Workbook have short saint stories.
Book Video: Listen to the book video, Firefighters, by Norma Simon. This book illustrates how brave and hardworking firefighters are in our community.
Action: Plan a trip to meet the heroes in your neighborhood; visit your local police or fire station. Bring cards or baked goods to show your appreciation.
Prayer: Pray the 5-Finger Prayer to pray for all those who love and care for us. Instructions on the sheet.
