Learn: The Church is Holy because of Jesus. God sent his son Jesus to save us and heal us from our sins. We are all born with Original Sin. That is the sin that is washed away in our Baptism. Jesus forgave people's sins and healed them. He performed miracles to heal both the body and spirit.
Video: Watch God's Story: Jesus Heals a Man to understand how the faith of the paralyzed man moved Jesus.
The Holy Spirit helps us to act like Jesus. Jesus showed compassion and mercy to the paralyzed man. What is compassion? To understand another's problems and want to help. What is mercy? The generous forgiveness God shows us when we admit we are wrong and ask for forgiveness.
Service: Show compassion and mercy to others by doing an act of service. Look at the SJC Service Opportunities.
Prayer Video: Pray the Prayer of St. Francis as a meditation.

Learn: In Chapter 7 we read the story of Jesus going to a temple in Nazareth. Jesus reads the Word of God from a scroll written by the prophet Isaiah. Jesus told the people that God sent him to tell them about God's love and mercy.

Activity: Break the code by doing the Rule to Live By activity on page 93 of your Workbook.

Learn: In Chapter 8 we learn why we pray. At times it seems like we pray for something and it does not happen. That does not mean God is not listening to us. Jesus tells us we should pray to God often. We should ask for what we need, not what we want. Prayer helps us to see things differently. We begin to see what is really important.
