Learn: We begin with God and the story of Creation. We read the part of the Creation story where God created man on page 28 of your Workbook. We are reminded that we are all created in God's image. The Scripture passage is not a scientific account of creation. It was written to show God's love for us.
Video: Watch God's Story: Creation to learn the story from Genesis.
The Holy Trinity: In our Catholic faith we know there is one God in three Persons, called the Holy Trinity. There is God the Father, God the Son, Jesus and God the Holy Spirit.
Prayer Video: Pray the Glory Be prayer which is a prayer to the Holy Trinity.
Action: We see God's goodness in all creation. As a family, choose an activity from the September Family Page to experience and celebrate God's goodness.

Learn: In Chapter 2 we read about Mass and we recognize that we give Thanks and Praise to God during Mass. We thank Him for the gift of his only son Jesus, who suffered and died to save us.

Activity: Print and make The Parts of the Mass booklet to practice what you just learned. Answers here.
Action: You know how good you feel when you receive a compliment or praise for something you did. Challenge yourself to give a compliment or praise to another person. Each day of the week, choose a person and give them an honest compliment or praise.
Prayer Video: Pray the Lord's Prayer along with the video.
Action: Choose an Activity from October Family Page to do together as a family.

Learn: Now we learn the story of God giving Moses the Ten Commandments on top of Mt. Sinai. We learn the first 3 Commandments teach us how we are to relate to God.
Video: Watch God's Story: Ten Commandments and the Golden Calf to learn more about Moses getting the Commandments from God.
Activity: Print and do the Three Commandments worksheet to understand the meaning of the first three Commandments. Answers here.
Activity: The sheet Commandments #1-#3 connects their meaning to everyday life for a 4th Grader.
Activity: You can Make a Poster of one of the first 3 Commandments. Use any piece of paper to make a poster. Change the wording of the Commandment so it sounds like the way we speak today. Example: the 1st Commandment could be "Love God above all things" or "God is #1".

Activity: The activity on page 60 of your Workbook called Responding to the Commandments connects Commandments #1-#3 with The Lord's Prayer.
Prayer Video: Rosary - The Lord's Prayer is the first prayer you say when you pray a decade of the rosary. Find a rosary and pray a decade of the rosary along with this video.
YC Family Supplies: You just learned about The Lord's Prayer. Open your Meet the Kids in the Bible booklet in your YC Family Supplies and read about "A Good Son" on pg. 4 and the virtue of Obedience.
