Learn: In Chapter 5 we learn Jesus was baptized by his cousin John the Baptist. Jesus was born without Original Sin. We learn the word Incarnation, which means Jesus is both God and man. Jesus became truly human when he was on earth, but did not give up being God. He was like us in all ways, but He was without sin.

Learn: Now we make the connection between Baptism and Confirmation. We learn the symbols of Baptism: water, sacred chrism, white garment and lighted candle and the symbols of Confirmation; anointing with sacred chrism and the laying on of hands. Baptism fills us with the Holy Spirit and in Confirmation we are strengthened by the Holy Spirit.

Learn: In Chapter 7 we learn the story of Saul. Saul originally believed Christianity was wrong. Later he experienced a conversion and accepted God's grace and turned away from sin. You may know Saul, because he became Paul, one of our greatest saints.

Learn: In Chapter 8 we learn about the Apostles' Creed. This prayer contains the central truths of the Catholic faith. It is divided into 3 parts, just like the Holy Trinity. In each part we profess our faith in God; first to God the Father, then to God, the Son, and lastly to God the Holy Spirit.
Activity: Print and fill in the words on the Our Creed Worksheet to help you learn the prayer. Answer Key here.
