Chapter 5 - Confirmed in Holiness
Learn: The Gifts of the Holy Spirit help us be the people God calls us to be. Understand the Theological Virtues: Faith, Hope, and Charity and describe the Cardinal Virtues: Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, and Temperance. Be open to the Gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Knowledge, Fortitude, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.

The Virtues (page 5): Reflect on the four Cardinal Virtues: prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance and three Theological Virtues: faith, hope, and charity. Turn to pages 51-52 of your workbook to help you complete this worksheet.
Catholic Youth Bible (CYB): Read "Catholic Connection, Gifts Fit for a King" on page 923 of your CYB. Follow up with reading Isaiah 11:-2 (p. 922-923).
Journal, When I'm Feeling . . . The Need to Reach Out in Prayer. In your CYB, turn to page 1773. Locate the section entitled "The Need to Reach Out in Prayer." Read the suggested scripture verses that correspond to this feeling. In your journal write about a time when you reached out in prayer and how these scripture verses validate and support that experience.
The Gift of Fortitude: This gift of the Holy Spirit gives us the ability to live as a follower of Jesus, stand up for our beliefs, and live a good Christian life.
Action: Identify, with the help of others, which gifts and fruits of the Spirit are most present in your life right now. How do these gifts help you be a disciple of Christ and help those in need? Take action, get involved, use your gifts.
