Learn: Jesus made it clear that we are to model our lives after his. In this Chapter we learn first that every person has something to contribute to help others. Second, we learn that we are imitating Jesus when we serve others with humility and love.
Catholic Youth Bible (CYB): Jesus taught about almsgiving, the giving of our time, talent, and treasures for the good of others. Read The Poor Widow's Contribution in Mark 12:34-44 and Teaching About Almsgiving in Matthew 6:1-4, which is part of the Sermon on the Mount.
Video: Watch The Seven Virtues: Cardinal & Theological. As we work to imitate Jesus, we grow in our ability to make good moral choices, which can lead to a habit of doing good, or a virtue.
Activity: Print and do Unity in Diversity puzzle. Answers here.

Game: Play the Interactive Word Search using the vocabulary from the previous Chapters.
What can a 7th Grader do today? Ask yourself, what are my motives and attitudes when I'm helping others? Am I looking for recognition? Give your time to others this week and don't look for recognition or a thank you.
Prayer Video: Pray the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. This is a beautiful, quiet meditation on peace.

Learn: The Eucharist is the center of Catholic life. It unites us as a Church and inspires us to reach out in loving service to others. The Eucharist is an unchanging Sacrament and is truly the Body and Blood of Christ.
Video: Watch Mass at SJC to hear Father Reszel pray the Eucharistic Prayer.
Activity: Every time Mass is celebrated, the Eucharistic Prayer is prayed. It connects us to Jesus at the Last Supper. Read in your Catholic Youth Bible (CYB) "The Last Supper" in Luke 22:14-20. Print and do Jesus is our Eucharist. Answers on Page 2.
Music Video: Listen to the beautiful song "I Am the Bread of Life." The song is inspired by Jesus' words to the crowd in John 6:22-59.
Game: Do an Interactive Jigsaw puzzle of an image of Jesus. What do you think Jesus looked like? Many artists have tried to paint the face of Jesus. Draw your own picture of Jesus that expresses your relationship with him.
What can a 7th Grader do today? God calls us to help those in need in our family, schools, and community. Open your CYB and read Luke 22:24-27 and "Growing in Faith - Servant Leader Prayer" on page 1387. The prayer explains the Bible passage. Take a quiet moment and pray for guidance from Jesus.
Prayer Video: Watch What is Eucharistic Adoration? Spend some time in prayer, thanking Jesus for his Sacrifice.

Learn: Following Jesus involves self-sacrifice and tough moral decisions. Jesus teaches us that in order to achieve fullness of life we must follow the Ten Commandments, live a moral life, and be faithful to his teachings.
Video: Watch Jesus and a Rich Man. Jesus answers the question "What must I do to inherit eternal life?"
Catholic Youth Bible (CYB): The rich man asks Jesus, "What must I do to inherit eternal life?" That is a loaded question. Read "The Rich Official" in Luke 18:18-23, then read "Who is my Neighbor-The Loaded Question" on page 1378 to better understand the passage.
Activity: Read the Dilemma Questions and think about what you would do. Then think about what Jesus would do. You can use this Ten Commandments and their meaning sheet to help you.
Music Video: Enjoy Trading My Sorrows. Discipleship means saying "Yes, Lord!"
What can a 7th Grader do today? Decide where you can be of service to another. Challenge yourself to make a choice this week that is good for someone else, even if it is hard for you.
Saint: Read about Dorothy Day and how she opened her home to the poor because she believed it was her moral duty.
Prayer Video: Listen to Come, Holy Spirit. When we need strength and courage to face moral dilemmas, we can turn to the Holy Spirit.

Learn: We learn that through prayer, Jesus' healing presence transforms us and let's us know we are not alone. Prayer opens us up to listen to God. Jesus performed healing miracles as a visible sign of God's love, to show he was sent by God to save the world.
Video: Watch God's Story: Lazarus. This is a powerful story of faith. You can also read it in John 11:1-44 (CYB, pp. 1416-18).
Catholic Youth Bible (CYB): Jesus performed numerous healing miracles, here are two: "The Healing of the Paralytic" in Luke 5:17-26 (pp. 1348-49) and "The Man Born Blind" in John 9:1-41 (pp. 1413-14).
Video: Watch The Five Forms of Prayer of the Catholic Church. We pray for others in the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, where the priest acts in Jesus' name to bring Christ's healing to the ill or elderly, through prayer and anointing with holy oil.
