Learn: In Chapter 1 we learn that we are Christians. A Christian is a person who believes in Jesus Christ.
St Paul: St. Paul wrote many letters to different communities that were far away from each other. He wanted the people to know that they were alike; they were all baptized, they all followed Jesus' teachings, they believed in God and they all believed God loved them. They are all part of one Church.
Activity: Print and do the Our Church as One puzzle. Answers here.
Action: At our Baptism we become part of one Church. Ask your parents and godparents about your Baptism day.
Activity: Decorate your YC Supply Box. Print this sheet to draw the secret Christian Symbols from the time of St Paul.

Learn: In Chapter 2 we talk about Welcoming. We are welcomed into the Church through celebrations called Sacraments. Sacraments are special celebrations of God's love and grace.
Slide Show: View the The Welcoming Sacraments to learn more about Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
In Baptism our sins are washed away and we receive the Holy Spirit. Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism and we are sealed with The Gifts of the Holy Spirit. In the sacrament of Eucharist we receive Jesus every time we receive the host.

Prayer Video: Pray the Apostles Creed. The images help to understand the meaning of the prayer. When we pray the Creed we profess our beliefs.

Learn: God wants us to love, respect and care for each other. We read the Bible story of two disciples, Peter and John. At this time Jesus has already died and gone to heaven. He has sent the the Holy Spirit to the disciples to help them tell others about His life and His message. Jesus' most important message is to love our neighbor.
Video: Watch God's Story: Peter and the Other Believers to hear the story.
Respond: After you watch the video, answer this: What two things did the paralyzed beggar receive? (Answer: The gift of walking and the gift of knowing about Jesus.)
Activity: Make Loving Action Coupons and do a loving action for someone as a nice surprise.

Learn: In Chapter 4 we learn the first prayer Jesus taught His followers was The Lord's Prayer. Jesus taught us to call God our Father and that God's name is holy or hallowed. When we follow God's message of peace and love we take part in the Kingdom of God. Prayer helps us to live in peace with God and with our neighbor.

Types of Prayer: We pray to God for many reasons. We pray to God to ask for His care and protection in a blessing, to ask for what we or others need in a prayer of petition, to give thanks for his many gifts to us and to praise Him for all of His goodness.
Activity: Print the Prayer Cube template and Instructions to make a prayer cube of the 4 types of prayer.
