A power hammer has a two- to three-kilogram steel head attached to a 50- to 80-centimeter long haft. Power hammers are heavy and unbalanced, generally requiring two handed use, but a wielder with exceptional strength may use it single-handed.
A standard power hammer contains six explosive charges, though double-sided versions exist that use a second floating striking plate on the back side instead of the fixed face. The double sided versions hold twelve charges, six under each face, but cost substantially more. Charges are basically very short, caseless shotgun shells without a projectile. They fit into a wide thin magazine that inserts into the weapon just behind the strike plate. Some power weapons also include a smartgun system to wirelessly eject spent magazines, making the reloading process faster.

Special Qualities:
A Power Hammer must be used two-handed unless the user has Strength 8 or higher, then it may be used single-handed.
The base Damage Value is listed for a strike without charges - from either the floating or fixed striking face.
Using charges under the striking plate increases the Damage Value by +1 and grants a +2 Dice Pool Modifier for each charge used.
Up to two charges can be used in a single attack.
Wireless:
A Smartgun System may be added to a power weapon but it provides no benefit beyond an ammo counter and the ability to wirelessly eject spent magazines.
Changing magazines in a Power Weapon is a Reloading Weapon Major Action unless the weapon has a smartgun system.
