Shadowrun:SITS - Adept Powers

Adepts

Adepts channel mana in a different way from other spellcasters. Rather than use formulae to shape mana into an external spell effect, adepts take mana into themselves, letting it flow throughout their body and enhance their abilities. It may make them stronger, faster, healthier, more charming, or some other effect, but however it works it makes them tremendously effective shadowrunners.

Adepts sometimes have to resist drain, which they do with Body + Willpower. Drain is Stun unless the damage after the resistance test is higher than the caster's Magic, in which case the damage is Physical.

Mystic Adepts

With a foot in two different kinds of magic, mystic adepts can be devastatingly powerful. Their ability to both use spells and adept powers gives them tremendous flexibility. They might not sling spells as well as a full magician or gain the full physical powers of a dedicated adept, but the way they combine those abilities can make them lethal - and valuable.

At Character Creation, Mystic Adepts divide their Magic rating between spells and power points. They get 1 Power Point for each point of Magic dedicated to the Adept side, and available spells equal to the amount of Magic dedicated to being a magician x 2.

Mystic Adepts cannot be aspected spellcasters.

They can only perceive astrally if they purchase the Astral Perception adept quality, and they can never astrally project.

Power Points

The key measurements of power in adepts are their power points. These points are used by adept characters to allot their powers that will enhance their abilities. Whenever adept characters gain a point of Magic, they also gain a power point.

This means that an adept character who starts with a Magic rating of 4 also starts with 4 power points.

Power Points do not need to be spent when they are obtained; characters can hold on to them and spend them only when they feel the need to.

Adept Powers

These are the powers adepts can use to give them the boost they need. The listings include the Power Point cost and the type of action needed to activate the power. Some adept powers have levels, meaning that their effect can be increased as multiple levels are purchased.

Others have a flat bonus - you buy them once, and you have the full power ready-to-go.

Adept Accident

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: This power may be activated at any time within the adept's Magic rating in minutes from the time the target has been touched last. This means that the adept must have touched the target in a successful Close Combat attack if they are in combat.

The adept rolls their Magic + Willpower vs. Reaction + Intuition.

If the adept wins, the target suffers a Glitch or accident.

If the adept scores 4 or more net hits, it is considered a Critical Glitch with potentially catastrophic results.

The adept must resist Adept Drain (Body + Willpower) equal to the number of hits.

Description: This power allows an adept to disrupt the mana flows within a target they have physically touched.

Adept [Spell]

Cost: 1 Power Point

Activation: Major Action

Effect: Learn 1 spell for free when acquiring this power.

This ability follows the standard rules for spellcasting, and the adept must have enough Karma to purchase 1 rank in Sorcery to use this power.

Drain for Adept Spells is always Physical, and resisted with Adept Drain (Body + Willpower).

This power may only be taken once.

Description: With this power, an adept has learned to cast a single spell not unlike a magician.

Adrenaline Boost

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: For each level of the power, add 2 to the Initiative Score for your Magic rating in Combat Rounds.

At the end of those Combat Rounds, experience drain equal to the level of power, which you can resist as normal.

Description: You get a surge of energy so you can get the jump on others.

Aid Sorcery

Cost: 0.5 Power Point per level

Activation: Major Action (Minor Action to maintain)

Effect: The adept must touch the spellcaster and spend a Major Action to open a mana conduit between them, and they must maintain physical contact and spend a Minor Action every subsequent Combat Round to keep the conduit open.

A spellcaster that casts a spell while a conduit is maintained in this way adds the adept's Aid Sorcery ranks as bonus dice on any Sorcery test (including Counterspelling and Ritual Spellcasting).

After each time a spellcaster uses these bonus dice, the adept must resist drain in the form of Stun damage equal to their ranks in Aid Sorcery.

Description: An adept with this power can channel their inner magic to aid a nearby spellcaster with their sorcery.

Air Dance

Cost: 1.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: At the start of the Combat Round, compare the adept's initiative to the highest initiative on the opposition.

For every (10 - Initiate Grade) Initiative Points that the adept beats their faster opponent by, the adept gains +1 Minor Action.

Description: Using Air Dance allows a particularly speedy adept capitalize on their reaction time against slower opponents, gliding smoothly on air with their feet just a centimeter off the ground.

Analytics

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: Adepts with this power gain +1 Dice Reroll when making any Logic-based test.

Description: Adepts with this power recognize and solve patterns and puzzles with supernatural ease.

Animal Empathy

Cost: 0.5 Power Point per level (Maximum 2 levels)

Activation: Passive

Effect: Gain +1 Dice Reroll when making any Charisma-related test against mundane critters.

The second level of this power grants this same bonus with Awakened critters.

Description: Some adepts have an uncanny ability to connect with other animals. An even smaller percentage have decent luck with Awakened critters, like the Infected and dracoforms - good luck with that!

Astral Perception

Cost: 1 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: You gain the ability to use Astral Perception and follow the normal rules in doing so.

While using this power you are dual-natured and when using this power you can attack Astral forms.

Description: You gain the ability to astrally perceive like the majority of Awakened individuals.

Authoritative Tone

Cost: 0.50 Power Point per level (Maximum of 3 levels)

Activation: Passive

Effect: For every level of this power, an adept gains a +1 Dice Pool Modifier to any opposed Social test that they initiate.

Description: Adepts with this power can speak in a way that immediately makes people want to believe them and follow their orders.

Attribute Boost: Physical

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Major Action

Effect: When purchasing this ability, it must be applied to a specific Physical attribute (Body, Agility, Reaction, or Strength).

If this power is purchased multiple times, it can be used either to increase the rank connected to an already selected attribute (up to 6 total) or to apply to a new attribute.

Attribute Boost cannot be applied to Mental or Special attributes.

When this power is activated, roll Magic + Attribute Boost rating. Each hit temporarily boosts the rating of the designed attribute by 1, up to the maximum of half the unaugmented attribute's base rating.

This only affects dice pools, so your Initiative rank, Condition Monitor, Defense Rating, and so forth are not changed.

This effect lasts for Net Hits in Combat Rounds and when it runs out, the adept takes drain equal to the level of this power, resisted as normal.

Description: Mana flows into your body and enhances your inherent abilities, carrying you to a superior level of capability.

Attribute Boost: Mental

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Major Action

Effect: When purchasing this ability, it must be applied to a specific Mental attribute (Logic, Intuition, Charisma, or Willpower).

If this power is purchased multiple times, it can be used either to increase the rank connected to an already selected attribute (up to 6 total) or to apply to a new attribute.

Attribute Boost cannot be applied to Physical or Special attributes.

This only affects dice pools, so your Initiative rank, Condition Monitor, Defense Rating, and so forth are not changed.

This effect lasts for Net Hits in Combat Rounds and when it runs out, the adept takes drain equal to the level of this power, resisted as normal.

Description: More refined adepts than those who pick the power to the left harness their internal mana flow and use it to empower not only their physical abilities but their cleverness, perception, force of personality and even strength of will.

Berserk

Cost: 1 Power Point per level

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: When this power is activated, the adept gains +1 to all of their Physical attributes per level of Berserk (limited to the usual augmented maximums), ignores an amount of damage equal to their ranks in Berserk (as though they also had Pain Resistance at the same level, this stacks with existing Pain Resistance and other modifier amelioration).

They also suffers a -1 to all Mental attributes per level of Berserk to a minimum of 1.

These modifications affect most dice pools, such as Initiative, attack rolls, soak rolls, etc.

This power does not affect Condition Monitors.

A berserk adept must make a Close Combat attack against a target in range or use a Major Action to close the distance between themselves and a target every round, including friendlies or bystanders, once no opponents remain.

The berserker frenzy lasts for (Berserk Levels x 2) Combat Rounds.

If the adept wishes to leave this aggressive state early, they must roll an Adept Drain test (Body + Willpower, or as appropriate for their Adept Way) and score hits equal to their ranks in Berserk.

When the power expires, the adept must resist drain equal to (Berserk Levels x 2), using their regular, non-Berserk attributes.

Description: Some adepts are wells of furious mana and have learned to tap into that primal energy to enter a frenzied state that greatly increases their physical abilities.

Blind Fighting

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: An adept using Blind Fighting may reduce any visibility modifiers by 1.

Adepts with Blind Fighting are still vulnerable to ambush or surprise situations.

Description: An adept with this power uses some combination of other senses to reflexively compensate for a lack of vision, whether due to permanent injury, temporary penalties, or a simple blindfold.

Cloak

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: For every rank an adept has in the Cloak power, they may impose a -1 Dice Pool Penalty to tests made to read their aura.

Description: Some auras are harder to draw a bead on than others, such as adepts with this power.

Combat Sense

Cost: 0.5 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Gain a +1 Dice Pool Bonus per level on any defensive tests.

You always have a chance to make a Perception test to avoid surprise.

Description: This power gives you the ability to anticipate danger and avoid harm - even when others are completely unaware.

Commanding Voice

Cost: 1.5 Power Point per level

Activation: Major Action

Effect: Every level of this power adds a +1 Dice Pool Modifier to opposed Influence tests for Intimidation that the character initiates while also lacing those forceful commands with unstoppable intent.

If the adept succeeds in such a test, the target must obey the adept's given order, at least momentarily.

Dangerous orders, or orders given in dangerous situations such as combat will be followed for a maximum of Combat Rounds as the adept's ranks in Commanding Voice.

Orders may never result in the target directly harming themselves. Orders such as "Leap off the roof," "step into traffic," or "shoot yourself" are not valid commands."

They may result in a moment of vulnerability that can be taken advantage of or a momentary shift of allegiance. When in doubt, a successful order should at least make a target freeze up for a single Combat Round, even if the order given is impossible or clearly suicidal.

Clearly supernatural orders will leave a target aware of this external control, but less radical commands may result in longer obedience, and if phrased carefully may not even result in the target or other witnesses being aware of any supernatural manipulation.

Description: The words of an adept with Commanding Voice are infused with supernatural authority and power.

Cool Resolve

Cost: 1 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: For every level in Cool Resolve, the adept may add +1 Dice Pool Modifier to all opposed social tests to resist someone else's initiated Influence skills.

The adept may also add a +1 Dice Pool Modifier on all tests to resist the Fear critter power.

You are not obligated to add the bonus dice on friendly Leadership or Instruction rolls.

Description: Adepts with this power are extremely cool and self-assured in social interactions. This includes situations such as negotiations with a Mr. Johnson, running a con on the street, staying in-character while undercover or resisting the tender inquiries of a professional interrogator.

Cosmetic Control

Cost: 1 Power Point per level (Maximum of 2 levels)

Activation: Major Action

Effect: One level of Cosmetic Control allows for the adept to change within the confines of what is normally allowed for their metatype: ears remain pointed for everyone but humans, elven ears always the longest, trolls maintain horns and orks tusks, height remains within the range of one's metatype and hair, eye, and skin colors are limited to the usual range of their metatype.

The second level allows an adept to reach beyond the usual limitations of their metaspecies, in both general appearance (ear shape, removal or addition of horns/tusks, etc.) and in size, allowing a dwarf to reach human, elven or orkish height or reduce themselves to a much smaller size. It also allows for a broader array of other cosmetic changes such as hair, skin, and eye colors and patterns with a greater variety (cat eyes, adding tattoos, striped blue hair, etc.).

Each level of Cosmetic Control adds a +1 Dice Pool Modifier to Con tests for Acting, Disguise, and Impersonation when applicable.

These changes are purely cosmetic but are not illusory and clothing and other equipment is not affected, nor may damage be healed in this way, augmentations expelled or installed, etc.

Description: An adept with Cosmetic Control may alter their body in order to change their physical appearance by growing or shedding hair, changing traditional secondary sex characteristics, altering their skin tone, adding or removing blemishes or scars, reshaping their facial features, changing their height and weight, or increasing or decreasing other cosmetic physical attributes.

Countermagic

Cost: 0.5 Power Point per level

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: An adept with Countermagic adds a +1 Dice Pool Modifier on tests to resists spells per level of this power.

Description: Spells slide off an adept with this power like water off of a duck's back.

Counterstrike

Cost: 0.5 Power Point per level

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: This power may only be used on an adept's turn directly after successfully using a Minor Action to Block a Close Combat attack.

After spending an additional Minor Action to trigger Counterstrike, add a +1 Dice Pool Modifier equal to their levels in Counterstrike plus any net hits from the Block - but only on an attack against the character that the adept blocked against.

Description: An adept with Counterstrike may smoothly shift from defense to offense in Close Combat, catching an opponent off-guard after successfully defending against an attack.

Critical Strike

Cost: 1.0 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Increase the Damage Value of your melee attacks by 1 per level of this power.

This power is compatible with other enhancements from weapons and adept powers unless otherwise prohibited.

Description: Gain an innate ability to know where - and when - to hit another target. You also start to hit harder in those soft areas, more than most.

Danger Sense

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: Gain a +1 Dice Reroll on any Surprise tests.

Description: You have a sixth sense for danger, instinctively knowing when it's nearby and preparing for it.

Dash

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: When an adept makes a Sprint test and invests a Minor Action to focus themselves, they add +1 Meter to their movement for every rank in Dash.

Description: Fleet of foot is putting it mildly! This adept can move.

Demara

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Major Action

Effect: Once the adept has watched reference material for at least one hour, they can use the skill as if they have a skill rating of 1.

This knowledge remains in effect for a number of hours equal to the adept's Magic rating.

Description: This power grants the adept the ability to use an untrained skill at minimal effectiveness after watching a person or a recording of a person using the desired skill.

Direction Sense

Cost: 0.25 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: When making a Outdoors test related to directions, you may gain +1 Dice Reroll, provided you spend it immediately on that test.

Description: You have a good sense of where you have been, where you're going, and a few of the obstacles in between.

Distance Grasp

Cost: 0.5 Power Point per level

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: Distance Grasp allows an adept to use skills remotely, pick up small objects, flip switches, peck at keyboards, pick locks, and so on but they cannot attack.

The range of this power is (Distance Grasp Levels x Magic Rating) in meters, and the adept has an effective Strength equal to their levels in Distance Grasp in this psychokinetic hand.

Description: Distance Grasp allows an adept to reach out and manipulate the physical world through a psychokinetic effect that roughly mimics their hands.

Distance Strike

Cost: 2 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: The range of a Distance Strike is the adept's Magic rating in meters and it deals damage and equivalent to the adept's unarmed attacks - including supernatural or Essence-invested modifiers such as Killing hands, Elemental Strike, or Bone Lacing. This does not include external modifications like knucks, shock gloves, or snap-on forearm blades.

The adept attacks with Close Combat as though it were a regular Unarmed attack, but targets may choose to resist the attack as either a Close Combat or ranged attack - using Block or Dodge as they prefer.

Cover modifiers apply as usual and the strike cannot pass through solid objects or pierce mana barriers.

Description: An adept with Distance Strike may project their physical strength across short distances with the clear, mana-infused intent to deal damage and thus it allows them to strike a target without physically touching them.

Eidetic Sense Memory

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: The adept is capable of perfectly recalling any sensory stimulus (scent, smell, taste, sound, touch) or combination thereof.

Description: An adept with Eidetic Sense Memory is capable of memorizing all sensory input, including tastes, smells, and textures in addition to the more traditional visual ability.

Elemental Body

Cost: 1 Power Point

Activation: Major Action

Prerequisite: Elemental Strike

Effect: To activate this power, the adept must spend a Major Action channeling the desired element, after which it remains active for the adept's Magic rating in Combat Rounds or until deactivated at will.

For offensive purposes, treat Elemental Body like Elemental Strike. For defensive purposes, the attacker must resist the adept's base unarmed damage. If a single point of damage is sustained and they do not have protection to that element, they suffer it's status effect.

Fast moving projectiles are unaffected. Items on the adept's body already or held by the adept are unaffected.

Once deactivated, the adept must resist Drain Value of (Magic Rating + # of Combat Rounds the power was active).

The power may be purchased multiple times, adding a new elemental option with each purchase but only one elemental effect can be active per attack.

Description: An evolved version of Elemental Strike, Elemental Body creates a field of elemental energy that envelops the adept. This field forms approximately 3 to 5 centimeters from the adept's body and can be used offensively and defensively.

Elemental Missile

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: When Elemental Missile is purchased, the adept must choose one element and one type of ranged attack from the following list:

Thrown Weapons
Projectile Weapons
Exotic Weapon Specialization
Firearms Specialization

The specialization itself need not have a Specialization or Expertise be purchased, but the adept power only applies to a narrow category of use.

Elemental Missile may also be purchased for the Gunnery specialization of Engineering, but it only may be applied to mounted weaponry the adept has used Item Attunement on.

This power may be purchased multiple times. Only one elemental effect can be active per attack.

Description: Elemental Missile allows an adept to infuse a ranged attack with an elemental damage type.

Elemental Strike

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Prerequisite: Killing Hands

Effect: Adepts with this power add an elemental damage type to their unarmed attacks. Activating the power and visibly wreathing your hand, foot, or other striking body part with power requires a Minor Action, after which it remains active for the adept's Magic rating in Combat Rounds or until deactivated at will.

The power may be purchased multiple times, adding a new elemental option with each purchase but only one elemental effect can be active per attack.

Description: An adept with Elemental Strike may infuse their unarmed attacks with raw elemental force, adding an elemental damage type to their physical attacks.

Elemental Weapon

Cost: 0.5 Power Point per level

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: Adepts with this power add an elemental damage type to their weapon attacks.

Activating the power and wreathing your weapon in visible elemental energy requires a Minor Action, after which time it remains active for the adept's Magic rating in Combat Rounds or until deactivated at will.

The power may be purchased multiple times, adding a new elemental option with each purchase but only one elemental effect can be active per attack.

Description: An adept with Elemental Weapon is able to channel elemental power into their melee attacks with weaponry rather than with unarmed attacks.

Empathic Healing

Cost: 0.75 Power Point

Activation: Major Action

Effect: The adept begins Emphatic Healing through physical contact with the target and a Magic + Willpower roll vs. (5 - Target's Essence).

The adept removes 1 box of Physical or Overflow damage from the target per hit, simultaneously suffering 1 box of Stun damage for the first box of damage transferred this way, then Physical damage equal to the remaining boxes in future actions.

Damage is transferred at the rate of 1 box per Major Action, during which time physical contact must be maintained.

Injuries can only be affected once with Empathic Healing (but using Emphatic Healing does not count towards the limit of 1 Health spell per injury).

Description: Adepts in times of crisis can potentially link their health to that of an injured person and literally pull the target's injuries into their own body along with this powerful, and painful, conduit.

Empathic Sense

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: The adept spends a Minor Action and rolls Intuition + Perception and gains information according to the Assensing table but they are limited to the emotional state and the physical health of the target, their emotional state, and whether the target is Awakened, mundane, a technomancer or Monad.

If an adept makes an opposed Social test against the target and is able to leverage information gathered via Empathic Sense, the adept may gain a free point of Edge for use on the roll.

If an adept with Empathic Sense later gains the ability for full Astral Sight, this Power Point may be reallocated.

Description: Emphatic Sense allows an adept to access a much weaker form of Assensing, allowing them to sense the true feelings and health of any target they can see.

Enhanced Accuracy

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: Gain a +2 Dice Pool Modifier of any weapon you wield.

Description: Weapons are more accurate and deadly in your hands than in those of normal people.

Enhanced Perception

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: Gain +1 Dice Reroll when using the Observe In Detail action in combat, or making a Perception test to find something hidden, or listen to something you're not supposed to hear.

Description: Your senses are keenly honed, giving you information in enough time for you to figure out what to do about it.

Enthralling Performance

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: By investing a Minor Action to harness their power - in addition to the necessary action investment to perform with their craft - the adept may then roll their appropriate Skill + Magic, and their hits serve as a threshold modifier for any Perception tests their audience might try to make during the performance.

Enthralled audience members may be distracted and entranced for a maximum of (Charisma + Magic) x Net Hits in minutes, but viewers who are attacked, overtly threatened, or otherwise shocked out of it are snapped out of it early.

Enthralling Performance may be purchased more than one time for different Skill/Specialization combinations.

Description: Enthralling Performance lets an adept lace an artistic performance with magical power in order to mesmerize their audience and, in fact, put them into a relaxed hypnotic state.

Feign Death

Cost: 1 Power Point

Activation: Major Action

Effect: The adept can maintain this power for a number of hours equal to their Magic rating.

The adept sets a time limit of when they will wake from their comatose state: the only way to wake them up early is to send a message via a Mindlink spell containing a prearranged trigger phrase.

Physical contact, injury, loud noise, and so on have no effect on the death-mimicking adept.

Any attempts to diagnose signs of life must exceed a threshold equal to the adept's Magic attribute.

The adept is completely unaware of their surroundings in this state.

Description: Feign Death allows the adept the mimic death with enough accuracy to fool observers, biomonitors, and even medical kits.

Feign Illness

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Major Action

Effect: The adept can maintain this power for a number of hours equal to their Magic rating.

Any attempts to diagnose the illness must exceed a threshold equal to the adept's Magic attribute.

Description: This power allows the adept to mimic the signs and symptoms of an illness with enough accuracy to convince all but the most skilled observer. The power even creates real physiological changes such as fever and increased heart rate, which can fool a biomonitor or medical kit.

Flexibility

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level (Maximum of 3 levels)

Activation: Passive

Effect: For every level of Flexibility the adept possesses, the threshold for moving through cramped corners or getting out of restraints is lowered by 1.

During unarmed combat, if someone is trying to grapple the adept then they gain a +1 Dice Pool Modifier per level of Flexibility to prevent being subdued.

Description: Adepts with the Flexibility power can bend or twist their bodies past the metahuman normal, which allows them to squeeze through openings smaller than the adept and escape restraints far easier - and it also makes the adept harder to subdue during unarmed combat.

Focused Archery

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level (Maximum of 3 levels)

Activation: Passive

Effect: Solely for the purposes of determining the maximum Rating of bow they are able to fire without penalty, an adept can treat their Strength as 1 higher for each level they have in this power.

If an adept using this power fires a bow more than once in a Combat Round, they must resist Drain equal to twice the number of levels they have in this power at the beginning of the next Combat Round.

Description: This ability allows an adept to focus their qi and draw a bow that they normally would not be strong enough to use.

Freefall

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level (Maximum of 3 levels)

Activation: Passive

Effect: Every level of Freefall adds 3 meters to the distance an adept can fall before calculating damage.

Description: Some adepts are light on their feet, preternaturally so!

Great Leap

Cost: 0.25 per level

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: When attempting a Jumping test (Athletics + Strength) after investing a Minor Action to focus one's qi, an adept with Great Leap can make a running jump of 2 meters per hit, a standing horizontal jump of 1 meter per hit, and a standing vertical jump of 0.5 meters per hit.

The adept also gains a +1 Dice Pool Modifier on the Jumping test per level of Great Leap.

Description: Great Leap allows an adept to cross impressive distances with jumping.

Hang Time

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: 0.25 Power Point per level

Effect: The adept gains a +1 Dice Pool Modifier to all climbing tests.

Secondly, the adept can temporarily adhere to surfaces such as walls.

For each level of this power, the adept can attach themselves to a surface and hang out for approximately 5 minutes, provided they remain motionless and keep physical contact with the surface in question with a hand, foot, knee, or elbow.

The adept must use a Minor Action to bond their magical energy with the surface; normal clothing such as gloves or boots does not interfere with this power, but the use of heavy armor (armor with a DR of 12 or higher) will.

Moving the attached body parts on the surface they're adhering to, such as a moving vehicle, breaks the bond and can make an adept fall off.

Description: Adepts with this power receive two benefits. First, they are better climbers. And secondly? They can temporarily hang from surfaces such as walls as if their limbs are made of glue!

Heightened Concern

Effect: This power negates a single situational modifier at a time, such as using a device in AR or Astral Perception.

Description: The adept can ignore a single distraction while performing another task.

Improved Ability (Skill)

Effect: A skill must be selected when this power is chosen.

That skill receives an ongoing boost equal to the rating of the power. The maximum boost to the skill is 1.5x the current level (rounded up) or the augmented maximum, whichever is lower.

You need to have at least 1 rank in a skill to buy this power for it and the power can be purchased for multiple skills.

Description: Become faster, stronger, quicker in reaction or more in tune with a wide variety of skills as the mana inside you assists you.

Improved Mental Attribute

Cost: 1 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Select a Mental attribute (Intuition, Logic, Charisma, or Willpower) when purchasing this power.

The maximum boost to the attribute is 1.5x the current level or the augmented maximum, whichever is lower.

Description: Increase your mental capabilities at a raw, mana-rich level.

Improved Physical Attribute

Cost: 1 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Select a Physical attribute (Body, Agility, Reaction, or Strength) when purchasing this power.

That attribute receives an ongoing boost equal to the level of this power.

The maximum boost to the attribute is 1.5x the current level or the augmented maximum, whichever is lower.

Description: Increase your physical capabilities at a rawer, more primal level.

Improved Reflexes

Cost: 1 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: For each level of this power, add an Initiative Dice and increase your Reaction and available Minor Actions by 1.

The maximum level of this power is 4, and it cannot be combined with any other Initiative or Reaction boosts.

Description: This power gives you quick reflexes and anticipation, allowing you to act and react much faster than the normies.

Improved Sense

Cost: 0.25 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: When purchasing this power, select a sense: sight, hearing, touch, taste, or smell.

When making a test involving that sense, you get a bonus dice reroll, but only if you use it on that specific test.

Dice reroll points from this power cannot be gained more than once when the same sense (noise, sight, flavor, etc.) is involved.

This power can be selected more than once, each time for a different sense.

Description: Some adepts are known for feeling a little more logical than others, or tasting food with an increased palette. The truth of things is that most adepts invest in channeling their mana into an Improved Sense for the simple benefit of combat.

Intertia Strike

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: To use this power, the adept must first declare their intention by spending a Minor Action before the actual strike to channel the necessary energy.

If the strike lands, it does no damage. Instead, the adept knocks the opponent Prone as long as the adept's combined Magic + Strength rating combined are higher than the target's Body score.

Description: This power allows an adept to generate and channel extra energy into an unarmed or melee strike specifically intended to knock a target down.

Iron Gut

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Gain a +1 Dice Pool Modifier per level of the ability on any ingested substance that results in a Toxin Resistance Test.

Description: This power greatly increases the strength of the adept's digestive tract, allowing them to ingest and metabolize a wider array of substances than the metahuman norm.

Iron Lungs

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Each level of Iron Lungs increases the base time of holding one's breath by 20 seconds.

This power also adds a +1 Dice Pool Modifier to their Body rating per level when resisting fatigue damage from strenuous activity like running or swimming.

Description: This power increases the adept's natural lung capacity.

Iron Will

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Gain a +1 Dice Pool Modifier per level of Iron Will to any test to resist magical mind control or emotional manipulation.

This applies to Manipulation spells, critter powers, and adept powers.

Description: The adept is able to shake off supernatural influences easier than most.

Killing Hands

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: When fighting unarmed, you can choose to deal Stun or Physical damage.

Killing Hands can be combined with other powers affecting unarmed combat.

Attacks made using Killing Hands are considered magical, meaning they bypass protections against normal weapons and can be made against astral beings.

Description: With this power your hands become lethal and magical, useful in both shadowrunning and for cheesy pickup lines.

Kinesics

Cost: .25 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: When you are resisting Social tests, Judge Intentions test, or other tests intended to read your emotions or ascertain your truthfulness, you gain a +1 Dice Reroll to be used on such tests.

Only one such reroll point may be gained per encounter.

Description: Your command of body language and nonverbal communication is, well, magical and that helps you be incredibly difficult to read.

Kinesics Mastery

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Prerequisite: Kinesics

Effect: Kinesics Mastery allows two adepts with this power and line of sight of one another to relay complicated, detailed information to one another without outsiders noticing.

Secondly, every level of Kinesics Mastery increases the number of times per encounter that the Kinesics power grants a dice reroll.

Description: An adept with Kinesics Mastery is a master of body language, nonverbal communication, and both sensing tension in others and hiding their own.

Kiai

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level (Maximum of 6 levels)

Activation: Major Action

Effect: The adept makes an opposed Magic + Kiai rating vs. Logic + Willpower test to all those within the adept's Magic rating in meters.

If the target wins, they suffer no ill effects.

If the adept wins, the victim takes a -2 Dice Pool Penalty for a number of Combat Rounds equal to Net Hits. If the Net Hits exceed the target's Willpower, the victim is issued the Panicked status effect.

To gather the nerve to face the adept again, targets who failed must make a Willpower + Logic test against the original test's Net Hits.

At the end of the Combat Round, the adept takes Drain equal to the level of this power, which they then soak with Body + Willpower.

This power affects everyone who hears it, whether they are friend or foe.

Description: The adept channels their mana to let out a terrifying battle cry that can send their foes fleeing.

Light Touch

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: This power imposes a -1 Dice Pool Penalty per level of Light Touch to anyone observing or targeted by the adept when they make their Perception test.

Description: Light Touch allows the adept greater control with their hands when palming objects, picking pockets and preventing others from perceiving the act.

Linguistics

Cost: 0.25 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: Adepts must be exposed to a new language for a minimum of 1 hour, at which time they gain the new Language Skill at the basic level.

Linguistics also provides one bonus die to Perception tests to understand a language in which the character is trained (either via this skill or traditional means).

Description: An adept with Linguistics is able to focus their superhuman perception, memorization, mimicry, and empathic powers in order to learn languages after only minimal amount of exposure.

Living Focus

Cost: 1 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Using this power, an adept can sustain a spell from another spellcaster. Sustaining the spell requires no roll, but the adept suffers the -2 Dice Pool Penalty for sustaining the spell.

If the adept falls asleep or unconscious, they can no longer sustain the spell, so the spellcaster must either sustain it themselves (with their dice pool penalty) or drop it entirely.

Additional levels of Living Focus allow adepts to sustain additional spells (one spell per rank in Living Focus) or may be invested in defraying the penalty of sustaining a spell (every rank of Living Focus, after the first, invested into a spell may lower the penalty by 1).

For example, if Living Focus 3 allows an adept to self-sustain one spell for no penalty, three spells for a total penalty of -6 or two spells for a total penalty of -3.

Description: Living Focus lets an adept focus their internalized mana and use it like a battery to sustain a spell cast on them, similar to a sustaining focus.

Magic Sense

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: This power is to be treated similarly as the Detect Magic spell, but with a range equal to the adept's (Magic x 10) meters.

Description: Magic Sense allows an adept to detect the use of magic in their vicinity by channeling their mana.

Maintain Warmth

Cost: 0.25 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: This power eliminates any modifiers to a Survival test due to cold weather.

Description: Maintain Warmth allows the adept to delay the onset of hypothermia and other cold-related ailments.

Maneuver

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Major Action

Effect: To use this power, the adept invests a Major Action and rolls Close Combat + Intuition, opposed by their chosen combatant's Intuition.

Net Hits on the Maneuver test may then be allocated as bonus dice to either the adept's next Close Combat test made to attack that opponent or their next Defense test made against that opponent's attack (these bonus dice may be stacked with other modifiers, such as the Block action).

This "pool" of Maneuver dice goes away if they are not used before the end of the next Combat Round.

Description: An adept with this power can almost run rings around their chosen opponent thanks to balance and footwork along with carefully watching opponents' body language and tells.

Master Archer

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: Any ranged attacks the adept makes with a bow gains a +1 Dice Pool Modifier.

Description: An adept with this ability has no equal when wielding a bow.

Memory Displacement

Cost: 0.25 Power Point

Activation: Major Action

Effect: Allows the removal of selected memories for a predetermined amount of time with the use of a Major Action.

While the memory is displaced, the adept has no recollection of the reassure of its contents, rendering attempts at intimidation, interrogation, or mental manipulation spells ineffective, except for any physical trauma caused.

Once the predetermined time has elapsed, the memory returns.

Description: This power allows an adept to temporarily remove selected memories.

Mimic

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level (Maximum of 6 levels)

Activation:

Effect: For each level of Mimic, the adept gains a +1 Dice Pool Modifier to fool a print scanner.

The adept must spend 1 minute in physical contact with the target, with each minute increasing the quality of the copy.

The copied prints last for the adept's Magic rating in minutes before the adept's body reverts to its natural patterns.

Description: Mimic allows an adept to be able to mystically copy fingerprints, palm prints, and retinal prints and temporarily imprint those patterns onto their own body.

Missile Mastery

Cost: 1 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: With a purpose-built, non-explosive throwing weapon, increase the Damage Value of the weapon by +1 (grenades do not do extra explosive damage because you throw them really hard, but they may be used as improvised weapons).

With an improvised throwing weapon - coin, bullet, playing card, empty magazine, chopstick, flash-pak, etc. - the adept can attack for a Damage Value of 1 Physical or 1 Stun at Close and Near range, half that (rounded up) at Medium range, up to a maximum of 100 meters.

Description: Everyday items become lethal weapons to an adept with Missile Mastery due to sheer power, uncanny accuracy, or both.

Missile Parry

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: When being attacked by a non-bullet, non-explosive projectile or thrown projectile, the adept may use the Block Minor Action, allowing them to add their Close Combat skill to their Defense test, despite the attack not being in melee.

If the adept's Net Hits on the Block test exceed the base damage of the projectile or throwing weapon, the adept may - at their discretion - catch the weapon instead of batting it out of the air.

Description: Through uncanny reflexes and hand-eye coordination, an adept with Missile Parry has an extra layer of defense against projectiles.

Momentum

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: The Momentum power helps move an adept from success to success regardless of how long they work at a task.

Every level of Momentum lets them ignore one level of the -1 Dice Pool Penalty that progressively shrinks their dice pool when making an Extended test.

For example, Momentum 2 would allow an adept to use their full pool on the first test, second, and third Intervals of an Extended test and then roll with only a -1 penalty on the 4th, -2 on the 5th, etc.

Description: Some adepts are capable of a level of focused concentration that unaugmented mundane people cannot match.

Motion Sense

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Major Action

Effect: Motion Sense alerts the adept to movement in a radius equal to their Magic rating in meters and can be used to detect living beings or objects that would otherwise be hidden by normal senses.

To use this power, the adept must invest a Major Action in a Perception + Magic test. The threshold for this test is based on the size of whatever the adept is attempting to sense, with the thresholds as follows:

Smaller than a cat: 5
Smaller than a trash can: 3
Smaller than average dwarf: 2
Smaller than average elf: 1
Larger than a troll: Automatic success.

Description: Through a combination of natural and magical senses, the adept feels the movement of people, animals, or objects by their displacement of air molecules, changes in ambient barometric pressure, vibrations, or the minute disruption of the local mana field.

Mystic Armor

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Gain 1 point of Armor for each level of this power, which is cumulative with worn Armor.

Mystic Armor is also active on the astral plane.

Description: Mana itself forms a film-like shield around you, enhancing your protection.

Natural Immunity

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Add a +1 Dice Pool Modifier per level of Natural Immunity to all resistance tests against disease and toxins.

Description: This power allows an adept to become more resilient to poxes, maladies, and diseases.

Nerve Strike

Cost: 1 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: The adept must declare the use of this power prior to making a Close Combat roll, with the target defending as normal.

Instead of dealing damage, Nerve Strike lowers the target's Agility or Reaction (adept's choice) by 1 per Net Hit.

If the targeted attribute is reduced to 0 or less, the target is paralyzed.

Lost attribute points recover at a rate of 1 point per hour of rest.

This power is useless against opponents without working nervous systems or biological life energy such as drones or spirits.

Description: An adept with Nerve Strike is not only in tune with their own flow of internal mana but also able to disrupt that flow of life energy in others by striking nerve clusters and other focal points where such mana pools up.

Nimble Fingers

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Each level of Nimble Fingers after the first grants a +1 Dice Pool Modifier on tests like Stealth (Palming) for sleight-of-hand or picking pockets, Engineering (Lockpicking) for opening locks, or Con (Performance) tests for certain fine manipulations.

Each level of Nimble Fingers past the first also provides a bonus Minor Action that can only be used to offset the Major/Minor Action cost of Pick Up/Put Down Object, Reload Weapon, Use Simple Device, and other actions that rely on quick fingers and manual dexterity.

For example, Nimble Fingers 3 would reduce the Reload Weapon Major Action to an action cost of 2 Minor Actions - cutting the time it takes in half. This action discount does not count for Ready Weapons actions.

Description: Adepts with Nimble Fingers are amazingly dexterous and quick-fingered.

Pain Relief

Cost: 1 Power Point

Activation: Major Action

Effect: The adept rolls their Agility + Magic to accurately target the appropriate points on the body in a flurry of nerve strikes, and for every hit rolled the target may ignore one point of Stun Damage for purposes of calculating wound modifiers.

This damage is not healed, but the target feels recharged and refreshed. This damage relief fades after the adept's Magic rating in hours.

Alternatively, Pain Relief may be used to have the effects of a Nerve Strike removed.

Description: By manipulating someone's nerve clusters, qi points, and other natural areas where mana and life energy pool within a metahuman body, an adept with Pain Relief may temporarily relieve tension, fatigue, and discomfort.

Pain Resistance

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: For each level of this power, the negative modifiers from damage move one box farther down the Condition Monitor.

For example, at level 1 you don't suffer the -1 penalty until 4 boxes are filled on the Condition Monitor rather than 3. This power works for both Stun and Physical condition monitors.

Description: Pain hurts, but you gain an elevated ability to ignore it.

Penetrating Strike

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: For each level of Penetrating Strike, gain a +1 Dice Pool Modifier for your Close Combat attacks.

Description: Some adepts are supernaturally precise, powerful, or both in melee combat.

Piercing Senses

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Gain a +1 Dice Pool Modifier to resist illusion-based effects for each level of this power.

Description: This power grants the adept an increased ability to identify illusions and illusion-like effects.

Plague Cloud

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: All ranged attacks made against the adept while this power is active are considered to be in a moderate smoke or fog.

If anyone makes a successful melee attack against an adept with this power while its active, the attacker must resist an inhalation-based pollutant with a power equal to the adept's unarmed damage. Any Power unresisted is taken as Physical damage.

Description: This power surrounds the adept in a dense cloud of fumes, insects, or other pollutants or toxins.

Power Swimming

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: When an adept makes a Swimming test and invests a Minor Action to focus themselves, they add +1 meter to their movement for every rank in Power Swimming.

Description: Adepts with this power are banned from Olympic events, as they swim with the grace and speed of a marine mammal.

Power Throw

Cost: 0.5 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: For every level of Power Throw, add a +1 Damage Value to direct-damage (non-explosive) thrown weapons.

This power cannot more than double the base Damage Value of an attack, and only one level of Power Throw can be used in conjunction with the Missile Mastery power.

Description: Adepts with Power Throw are amazingly dangerous with thrown weapons.

Precision Throwing

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: For the purposes of determining thrown weapon range only, treat the adept as having 2 additional Strength per level of this power.

Description: Adepts with this power go far beyond the limit of their physical form when it comes to getting their thrown weapons to strike their targets.

Quick Draw

Cost: 0.25 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: The Quick Draw Minor Action can be used with weapons larger than the usual pistol or small throwing weapon and use it on those already-allowed small weapons without the need for a specialized holster, augmentation, or quality.

Description: The Quick Draw power allows an adept to be as quick on the draw with a pistol naturally, where most people require a little bit of assistance.

Quick Strike

Cost: 3 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: When initiative is rolled, an adept with Quick Strike rolls as normal but may choose to simply act first in the Combat Round instead of taking their actions in Initiative order. Their Initiative Score is not modified and they receive no additional Minor Actions because of this power.

If 2 adepts with Quick Strike both use this power at the same time, compare their Initiative Score rolls for a tiebreaker.

Description: There is fast and then there is impossibly fast - an adept with Quick Strike is simply the latter.

Rapid Healing

Cost: 0.5 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Add one hit per level on any Healing tests performed upon you.

Description: The magic that flows through you helps you knit your bones and regrow your flesh, making you heal quickly.

Rooting

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: This power provides a +1 Dice Pool Modifier to any test resisting being knocked down, levitated, or otherwise being displaced against their will.

The adept cannot move while the power is active and they take a -3 Dice Pool Penalty to any Dodge or Block tests while the power is active.

Description: Rooting allows an adept to become a nearly immovable object.

Side Step

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: Every rank in Side Step provides a +1 Dice Pool Modifier when they put extra effort into Defense, such as with the Block or Dodge Minor Actions.

These bonuses stack with the additional dice offered by Block and Dodge and with Combat Sense and other such modifiers. This bonus is not given on routine Defense tests.

Description: Adepts with Side Step are experts at narrowly avoiding incoming attacks with the most precise and efficient movements possible.

Skate

Cost: 1 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: The adept is able to push off with their first step, investing a Minor Action to do so.

The distance the adept can traverse is equal to their Magic rating in meters.

Attempting to traverse further distances requires the adept to find a stable surface or landing area to repeat the process; those who fail to find such a surface fall through whatever they are moving across.

An adept attempting an acrobatic move or defensive action while using this power suffers a -3 Dice Pool Penalty to their dice pool.

Description: This power is a minor form of levitation that gives an adept the ability to run across a surface that they normally wouldn't be able to such as thin ice, a fragile structure, or water.

Smashing Blow

Cost: 1 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: Multiply the adept's base Damage Value by 2 when attacking a barrier or other static structure.

This applies to both physical and magical barriers.

Description: An adept with this power can focus their magic into a single unarmed strike to help break through obstacles.

Spell Resistance

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: Gain +1 Dice Reroll whenever you are targeted by spells.

Description: Spells have a tendency to bounce right off of you rather than affect you.

Spell Shroud

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: For every level of this power, add a +1 Dice Pool Modifier to all tests to oppose Detection spells.

Description: An adept with the Spell Shroud power is fuzzy and indistinct against those who seek them out magically.

Spirit Claw

Cost: 0.25 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: Activated with a Minor Action, Spirit Claw adds (Magic x 0.5) to the adept's unarmed Damage Value against spirits, regardless of whether the combat is physical or astral.

It remains active for (Magic x 0.5) Combat Rounds or when the adept deactivates it or strikes with it.

To use Spirit Claw again, the energies must be re-channeled by spending another Minor Action.

Against spirits, this power can only be combined with the Killing Hands power.

Description: Named by the Beast's Way adept that discovered it, Spirit Claw allows the adept to temporarily create a small weapon of spiritual energy for use against spirits. While the discoverer's manifestation of this power appeared as oversized claws, others with this power have learned to form whatever weapon they desire - clubs, hammers, spikes, daggers, and so on - based on their particular Adept Way or paradigm.

Spirit Ram

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: When manifested, Spirit Ram moves with the adept and has a Reach of (Magic x 0.5) meters, and a Damage Value equivalent to the adept's Magic rating.

Spirit Ram moves with the adept and remains active for (Magic x 0.5) Combat Rounds or when the adept deactivates it or strikes with it.

To use Spirit Ram again, the energies must be re-channeled by spending another Minor Action.

Description: Similar to Spirit Claw, Spirit Ram creates a temporary ram shape - horns, ram's head, wedge, spikes and so forth - in front of the adept for charge attacks against spirits.

Stillness

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level (Maximum of 3 levels)

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: For every level of this power, the adept can remain in this state for approximately 1 hour.

Anyone using auditory or thermographic means to locate or perceive an adept using this power receives a -1 Dice Pool Penalty equal to the level of Stillness.

Visual searches or Perception tests are unaffected by this power, and the power is negated as soon as the adept moves.

Description: This power allows an adept to exert control over their body to avoid detection. By slowing their physiological processes (heart rate, breathing, and the need to flex muscles) and entering a relaxed state, the adept becomes completely motionless for a specific amount of time.

Their heat signature is also lessened, making the adept harder to detect by thermographic means.

Sustenance

Cost: 0.25 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: The Sustenance power allows an adept to receive as much sustenance and rest from one good meal a day and 3 hours of sleep as most metahumans get from three square meals and a solid 8 hours.

Reduce the adept's lifestyle cost by 250 nuyen per month, because needing to eat less makes a world of difference to a Squatter, but not to someone who's making a full meal out of caviar and quail eggs.

Description: Some adepts are able to overcome the needs of the body, whether it be through discipline, harnessing the manafield of the planet, surviving off sunlight, eating literal garbage, or meditating their hungers and exhaustion away.

Temperature Tolerance

Cost: 0.25 Power Point per level

Activation: Passive

Effect: For every level in this power, the adept gains a +1 Dice Pool Modifier to resist damage caused by extreme temperature exposure.

Description: This power allows adepts to better withstand the effects of extreme temperatures.

Three-Dimensional Memory

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Major Action

Effect: After memorizing an area with the use of a Major Action, the adept may make a Memory Test with their Magic attribute replacing either Logic of Intuition if they so wish.

The difficulty of this test varies based on how far back the adept is trying to remember (1 for the first day, 2 for a week, 3 for a month, 4 for a year, 5 for two years, etc.).

The area memorized is limited by what the adept was actually able to see, so spending more than one Major Action is a good idea; if they didn't open a closet or inspect the inside of a desk drawer, for instance, they don't know what was inside.

Description: Three-Dimensional Memory lets an adept memorize an area in detail through firsthand viewing and with a bit of time.

Toxic Strike

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Prerequisite: Killing Hands

Effect: The use of this ability follows the same rules and guidelines as the Elemental STrike power, but with toxic elemental effects.

Each toxic elemental effect must be purchased as a separate power.

Description: Toxic adepts with this power can channel either pollutants or radiation to an unarmed close combat attack to cause extra elemental damage.

Traceless Walk

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: You do not leave footprints, set off pressure pads, or other traps based on leg movement.

Hearing tests to listen for your passage and Outdoors tests to perceive your tracks cannot have Edge spent on them.

Description: You don't disturb the dust, dirt, snow, water, or anything else under your feet as you move, so there is typically no evidence of your passing.

Transmit Damage

Cost: 1 Power Point per level

Activation: Minor Action

Prerequisite: Killing Hands

Effect: After investing a Minor Action into channeling the mana for this power, the adept commits to a Close Combat roll which is resolved normally.

For each box of unresisted physical damage the adept deals to their opponent, remove 1 box from their own Physical Condition Monitor.

The maximum number of boxes that can be transmitted this way is equal to the adept's level in the power.

Stun damage cannot be transferred.

Description: This power allows an adept with Killing Hands to channel any physical damage that they've taken into an attack upon their chosen enemy.

Vocal Control

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Passive

Effect: Gain +1 Dice Reroll when attempting a Con or Influence test that somehow involves your voice.

Only one dice reroll may be earned per encounter with this power.

Description: You can control the pitch and modulation of your voice to make it sound the way you want - loud, quiet, resonant, or like some person you want to imitate.

Wall Running

Cost: 0.5 Power Point

Activation: Minor Action

Effect: When using this power, you can use a Sprint action to run up a vertical surface.

You cannot use this power for two actions in a row: you have to spend at least one turn moving across a horizontal surface before using this power again.

In effect, if you run up a wall and don't find a good foot or handhold you will likely be falling right back down.

Description: Running horizontally is so pedestrian. Running up a wall? That's how you show that you're a special little adept.
