Reading

I can fluently read texts using my knowledge of letters and sounds to decode words.

Guided Reading

Read: The Flash [3] from the SPELD website.

Focus phonemes: or, ee, ng

We are going to be reading this book for the next three reading lessons (today, Thurs & Fri). You will be asked to upload a video of your reading to Seesaw on Friday.

1. Read the Practice Page on page 3 –read aloud each sound at the top of the page and read the high frequency words at the bottom.

2. Read The Flash [3] book twice. Make sure you sound out any tricky words carefully.

3. Read the fluency chart at the end of the book.

Is this book too hard or too easy?

You can:

Remember to focus on reading fluency by reading the same book for the next three reading lessons. (If you choose to read a different book, you will be asked to upload a video of you reading your 'own choice' book on Friday instead).

Maths

I can add two numbers together to find the total.

Time to put your Maths brain on.

Explicit mini lesson for this activity has been posted on Seesaw.

You will need a wire coat hanger, 2 dice (or playing cards) and some pegs.

Roll the dice or turn over 2 playing cards. Put those pegs onto the hanger.

Count how many there are altogether.

Make sure you count on from the bigger number each time.

Challenge

Write down your number sentences using the + and = symbols.

PD/H/PE

I can move my body in a variety of ways.

Let’s revise locomotion movement.

This activity has been uploaded to Seesaw.

Click on the link to watch the 7 basic locomotion movements for sport.

Go outside and practise some of the locomotion movements.

Challenge

Can you show a well-performed locomotion movement on Seesaw.

Science

I can describe what the weather looks and feels like using weather words.

The weather report

This activity has been uploaded to Seesaw.

How do you know what the weather will be each day? Do you wait and look out your window each morning? Or do you watch the weather report during the news?

Sometimes we need to go outside and check how warm or cold it feels because it can look sunny but be really cold.

Today you are going to film your own weather report, just like a weather reporter on the news.

You can watch the news first for ideas or watch this clip for another idea. Upload your report in the activities section on Seesaw.

Well done for finishing another great day of learning!

Remember to say thank you to anyone who helped you.

Now is a great time to go outside and be active!
