Phonics Daily Review
I can revise my phonemes.
Watch the Quick Phonics Daily Review video (2 minutes)
Review all the phonemes we have learned so far this year in our QUICK PHONICS DAILY REVIEW!
2 minutes
There is no blending or segmenting in our daily reviews this week so you won't need a whiteboard today.
Challenge
If you want to make it harder, click on the settings cog and change the play back speed to 1.25 or higher to speed up the video. How fast can you go?
Writing
I can write sentences that describe an animal.
Use your labelled picture of an echidna from yesterday to write 3-4 sentences describing what they look like.
This video from the ABC local videos website has some extra information about echidnas.
Challenge
Include some other facts about echidnas that you learned from the video. You might write about:
where they live
what they eat
what they use their spines for
Reading
I can read texts to improve my phrasing and fluency.
It's time to curl up and read a good book!
This week is ‘choose-your-own-book’ week!
Pick a book from SPELD website, your PM eCollection library or a book at your reading level from anywhere else.
You might choose to reread some old favourites or a discover adventures in a new story.
Maths
I can recognise my teen numbers.
Time to put your Maths brain on.
Play the Teen Numbers game on Seesaw with a partner.
Roll a die.
Move around the board and read the teen number.
PD/H/PE
I can play an outdoor game.
Simon says, "Go outside!"
Take a partner or your family outside and play Simon Says outdoor style!
Here are some ideas:
Simon Says...
Jump like a frog on the grass.
Reach up high and touch the sky.
Run to the gate and walk back.
Sit on a chair and count to 10.
Geography
We're going on an animal hunt!
Lots of Australian birds and other Australian animals might visit your house and garden. You have already done your news on one of these animals.
Watch and listen to the video and write or draw any of the animals that you have heard or seen around your house.
Well done for finishing another great day of learning!
Remember to say thank you to anyone who helped you.
Now is a great time to go outside and be active!
