String and Kite

“I want to fly

Take me to the sky

The song of life I long to sing”

The kite said to the string

But once it was high

String it wanted to defy

“Higher I want to go

Far I want to flow

You are holding my wing”

The kite told the string

With a heavy heart

The string decided to part

Soon the winds did betray

And the kite went astray

Though the kite was now free

But it was lost in the spree

Kite and string

Together they must cling

United they endure

Alone their fall is sure

Bereft of law, justice has no motion

Without justice, law loses locomotion

Separated they’re bound to fall

Only together they can respond to the call
