Two Blind Girls

A long long while ago

When time had just begun to flow

Two girls were born

By the sense of sight, both were forlorn

Blinded at birth

They search for their worth

One focuses on duty

The other on beauty

One is blind of emotions

The other is blinded by emotions

One perceives the world by reason

For the other it remains forbidden as treason

One is aloof from whoever comes in front

Whether with rich or poor she does confront

The other can feel only when one comes near

To her the rest of the world just doesn’t appear

One always pursues what is fair

The only guide in her every affair

For the other everything is fair

At all costs she wants to share

One likes to weigh

Scales always show her the way

The other uses only her heart

All knowledge to her, it does impart

If either of them smiled at you

Heaven you immediately knew

And if any one of them does frown

In a pool of pity, you are sure to drown

Blindness they ever embrace

And only in blindness they find their grace

Into law the first girl eventually transformed

The other became love when to blindness she conformed
