Thief of The Sky

Twinkle twinkle little star

Now I wonder where you are

Up above the world so high

But smoke is always in the sky

The night is bereft of all the glee

When the twinkle is so rare to see

Sad is the face of that little boy

Someone has robbed him of all his joy

But who has stolen the twinkling star

The thief is not so very far

We all have done the collective crime

Will we be forgiven by the time

Have we lost all our sanity

To have committed a crime against humanity

Now for a twinkle if we crave

The whole earth we need to save

Maybe there is still a chance

But all our actions we need to glance

The acts that are not environmentally benign

Must attract huge tax and fine
