And you’re first with the execution true

Something no one ever knew

The right then belongs only to you

Your expression need not be new

But it must originate surely from you

If only within you it grew

And from no one else you drew

Then copyright is yours—valid and true

Your mark should be older than its claimant new

By use in trade the rights do accrue

When a licensee uses, the rights still enure to you

Its value enhances if more people knew

If registered, don’t forget to renew

Maybe old or maybe new

It’s a secret no one ever knew

You need to keep it out of the view

But under promise you may share it too

And if someone steals, make sure to sue

An indication which cannot be new

Geographical link it must have true

Only an association can apply for the rights to endue

Licensing is something you must eschew

One of the last in this group to make its debut

Woods are fresh and pastures new

Pride in the owner it does endue

Great poise also it tends to imbue

Without it can survive only businesses few
