Law and Love

For some law is propelled by fear

In the right direction it makes them steer

For them lady law won’t be dear

If that sword she does not bear

To some law is a bargain

Something they are prepared to lose for something to gain

Pleasure they exchange for pain

Duty they perform for rights to obtain

Some are wise

To see through they have the eyes

That bereft of law the boat of life would capsize

So, law for them is a necessary device

A charming dove

Majestically hovering above

No need for fear, bargain or wisdom to shove

Is there anyone for whom law is just love?
