Friendship’s Domain
Friendship is no barter
And it has no charter
The bond is not a contract
But from it you never retract
It is not a venture
Rather an adventure
A perilous sea you need to cross
Where your ego must go for a toss
It belongs to those who are ready to gamble
For wager is its very preamble
The grand risk you must take
Your life must be put at stake
Out of the window when all doubt would go
Cool breeze of trust would come in a lavish flow
The palace is full of wonder
But it’s trove you cannot plunder
What a challenge it is to be a friend
The barrier of envy you need to transcend
If you try to pretend
It will soon come to a bitter end
Siblings are ordinary; marriage is profane
And all relationships just go in vain
Unless you arrive at that sweet plane
Which is called friendship’s domain
Laden with conditions, it’s not a pact
With divine mystery it is always stacked
In friendship life knows that celestial thrill
Where you can drink to your heart’s fill
It’s a journey where on each step you find a treasure
And joy you grab without a measure
In the company of friend you can drop all your armour
Life is then blissful and the bond so much warmer
