Type: Team Building
Logistics Required: Props to demarcate the areas where participants stand.
E.g. rubber rings, hula hoops or participants water bottles with instructor FAK to be the centre point (can use this for land expedition).
Objective: Two teams to switch sides with the restrictive movements imposed.
Instructions:
Using whichever prop you chose to mark out the standing area, lay it out according to the image below and get pax to stand accordingly. We will imagine you have 10 participants and each standing area will be called a “marker”.
Rules:
Only one person can be on a marker at a time.
Participants can only move to an empty marker.
Participants can only move forward - If the group gets stuck, everyone has to restart.
Participants can skip over one person going the opposite direction. He/she cannot skip over someone going the same direction. To walk around the other person, participant can step off the marker and walk around the person to step on the empty marker.
Variations:
No talking allowed. Restart whenever someone talks.
Instead of the above formation, you can also have them in a straight line. It makes it slightly more challenging to see the solution.
Make participants shuffle their positions to create some dissonance every time they restart.
The game works with odd numbers. But if you still want an even number, you can use an inanimate object to represent a member of their team.
