Type: Ice Breaker
Logistics Required: Nil
Objective: To assume as many different identities as possible.
Instructions:
Every participant to have a simple introduction line, for example, “Hi, my name is [insert name] and my hobby is [insert hobby]”.
Participants will then walk around and find a partner. They will introduce themselves to each other.
Once the partners have introduced themselves, they will take on their partner's identity and find a new partner to talk to.
Example, Bob met Jane and Jane said “I am Jane and I like surfing”. Bob will take Jane’s identity, find a new partner, and introduce himself as “I am Jane and I like surfing” to the new partner. Jane will also take on Bob’s identity.
Everyone will continue to change and take on their new partner’s identity until the game ends [Instructor’s to set a time limit].
Once the round ends, instructor can get each person to introduce their final new identity. Whoever they introduce themselves as will be the next person to share their new identity.
Variations:
Increase length and difficulty of self-introduction for competent or small groups.
Listen in to the introductions and hold a pop quiz in the end. The more people they speak to, the more they will learn.
