Blanket Drop Game

Type: Ice Breaker

Logistics Required: Blanket / Poncho (with hole tied up) / Tarp / Groundsheet

Objective: To have the fastest reaction time to remember as many names or other information about their peers.

Instructions:

1. Have the group share their names or other information (hobbies, favourite foods etc) and emphasise the importance of remembering the information.

2. Split the group into two teams.

3. Use a blanket/tarp/groundsheet etc. to separate the two teams, ensuring they cannot see each other.

4. The teams will send one representative to the front, standing directly in front of the blanket facing the opposing team.

5. Once the blanket is dropped and opponents see each other, they must shout their opponent’s name or other information based on the instructor's instructions.

6. The participant who shouts the right information the fastest will win a point for their team.

Variations:

1. If participants already know each other’s names or the group is small and you want to increase difficulty: 

Use or add in information such as hobbies, favourite foods, how many siblings etc.

2. If no blanket/tarp etc: Get the two teams to stand in a line and back face each other. On the count of three, the selected representative from each team will turn and face their opponent.
