Type: Ice Breaker
Logistics Required: Short games rope
Objective: To break the ice while using the games rope as a prop.
Instructions:
Everyone to sit in a circle.
Each participant to do a self-introduction (name, CCA, hobbies, anything under the sun, etc. – up to instructor) while concurrently wrapping the short rope around their forearm.
Once they reach the end of the rope, they will stop and pass the rope to the next person.
The action of wrapping the rope is to help calm nerves while managing a prop.
Variations:
After they wind the rope around the forearm and introduce themselves, they can continue by unwinding the rope and speaking about another topic that you have set, example, fears and expectations of the course. Once unwound, they can pass the rope to the next person to do the same.
If there is no rope, you can use twine instead, and have them wind it around their finger.
