Rolling back me childhood with me batchie Hafifi.... This week we incorporated a classic memory game in hopes to add a lil bit if fun into our New Rockwall activity in Camp 2.
*Memory Game* (See nemo photo)
It is where you need to match pairs of cards. Playing is very simple - you turn over one card and then try to find a matching other. If successful, cards can be placed aside. If not, they shall be flipped back.
*Rules of Our Game*
We placed the cards in a 6 x 6 square grid.
For a complete climb on the beginner face, the group earns a single flip of a card.
For a complete climb on the intermediate face, the group earns 2 card flips.
For a complete climb on the advanced face, the group earns 3 card flips.
For every non-completed climb, as long as a climber passes the red line, the group earns a peep to a card.
We had 24 participants in total, and they are to work together, to uncover all the 18 pairs of cards, within the number of flips and peeps that they earn.
If the game is successfully completed, they will all earn a chilled pot of their chrysanthemum powdered drink (Lucky Camp 2 got a fridge now).
*Moodset & Objective*
While they were probably overwhelmed by prior activities & debriefing leadership models, Hafifi & i took this opportunity to celebrate the closure of their 2D1N expedition. As future leaders in their respective interest groups, it is important to acknowledge the efforts of their members, and to celeberate mini successess too.

Good idea sparks some ideas. Im assuming leadership course so here are some things in my head...
1. Use ubintu cards? Lead to land x?
2. Use key words/drawings from the relevant leadership model pertaining to the course as the cards? Eg: 5 practices of examplary leadership (eyes, hands, etc) and have a smooth transition to talking about it.
3. Use poker cards. And link to the debrief of the shapes. Spade - finding, hearts - feelings, clubs - future, diamond - facts. The potential to debrief based on this is limitless
4. Pictures of famous leaders. And wrap it up w whats their strength and how they amplified it.
5. The cards are words. The words form a sentence. The sentence, if spoken in a different tone has different effect on recipient. The point is what u say matters. How you say it matters more.
Ok that's all for now. Useful? Use. Slightly useful? Adjust. Not useful? Forget i said this. 🤣
