Shane Ng S.Y and I would like to share our framing for this week.
It all started with me looking at the programme and thinking of what can C1C represent other than Charlie. And so i thought of Captains. Proposed the idea to shane and he was game. Honestly, we did not think of how we would roll out the framing for the whole week before the course itself. But here's how the framing turned out:
<Day 1>
Trust and Belay - to be a captain, you need to know how to take care of the first and most important ship i.e. relationship. And the foundation of every relationship is trust.
<Day 2>
Tripod - to be a captain, you need to know how to move around and fix your ship. As you move around, because you have a good view up there, you will be able to collect some clues on the treasures you can find (we tied a bag of ubintu cards at each tripod platform).
Triyak orientation - to be a captain, you need demonstrate good seamanship.
<Day 3>
Land Ex - to be a captain, you must be good at navigating your way to find treasures. Use the clues you collected yesterday (ubintu cards) to find as many treasures (we used yellow ice cream sticks and called them golden sticks) as you can. You would need to collect a minimum of 10 golden sticks to earn the right to enter the sacred place (i.e. puaka hill). It's only in this sacred place that you can unlock the mystery campsite.
These golden sticks are very valuable as u can use them to trade for 3 things:
1. Obs merchandise (buff, arm sleeve)
2. Fresh food (celebration dinner)
3. Mystery activity (jetty jump)
<Day 4>
Sea Ex - to be a captain, you need to take care of the sea so that the sea will take care of you. Each trash item collected earns you a golden stick.
<Day 5>
Commitment activity - 5BX + run + walk the plank (get rid of bad habits)
Final debrief - Graduation ceremony on Indiana Ship: they are now ready to be captains of their own lives.
Its our first time trying and so its definitely not perfect, so do feel free to comment and share on how it can be further improved! Thanks!
