Ursula Creelman
Mrs. Creelman was born Ursula Thom in Merritt BC April 22, 1911. She attended school in Penticton, where she was an honours student, and trained to be a teacher in Victoria.
From 1929 until 1936 she taught Grades Three and Four in Penticton, specializing in music. In 1936 she married Arthur Creelman and moved with him forst to North Vancouver and then, in 1959, to West Vancouver.
Mrs. Creelman, who had a beautiful soprano voice, sang in a number of choirs and also volunteered at the Vancouver Aquarium as a docent, conducting tours of school children around the facility. When she died July 30, 1998, her husband asked that a bursary be started in her name.
