Cathy McNaughton
Catherine (Cathy) McNaughton, nee Bullock, was born and raised in North Vancouver. She attended Ridgeway Elementary and graduated from North Vancouver Senior Secondary in 1979, the school's last graduation year.
Cathy was grad class president and helped organize the longest continuous volleyball game, besting the Guinness Book of World Records at 52 hours and 10 minutes (a record broken again a few months later). Cathy's involvement in grad council set in motion years of volunteering and organizing events. The last year of NVSS was a special one for anyone who attended the high school as a large reunion was held for every year that attended (1924-1979). Cathy has lifelong friends from high school and to this day the grad class continues to have reunions every 5 years.
Cathy and her husband remained in North Vancouver where they raised two children, worked, volunteered with sports teams and school PACs and held various director positions on community boards. Cathy worked on the North Shore as a paralegal for more than 40 years. For many years, she was a Director at the North Vancouver High School Education Foundation, which has honoured her with an award.
Family is important to Cathy, whether it be the family she was born into or the friends she chose.
Cathy currently volunteers her time to various organizations in her community as she continues to live, work and play in North Vancouver.
