Anthony Lawrence Sedlak
Anthony Lawrence Sedlak was born April 15 1983 in Prince George, British Columbia, but he was raised in North Vancouver. During his high school years at Handsworth and Carson Graham Secondary Schools, he also worked in the restaurants on Grouse Mountain, where he first became passionate about food. In 2004, he spent a year in London England working at ®MDBR¯La Trompette®MDNM¯ Restaurant.
On his return to Canada, he won the Food Network's "Super Star Chef Challenge" and began his own TV show, "The Main," which ran for four seasons and launched his culinary career. Later, he became a judge on the "Family Cookoff" TV series. At the same time, he worked as Culinary Director at the American Cheesesteak Company Restaurant and a consultant and host at live culinary events in Toronto. A kind, sensitive, intelligent young man with a zest for life, Tony died suddenly and unexpectedly July 4 2012 at the age of only 29.
