Who Are We?
The North Vancouver High School Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to help students further their post-secondary education through the awarding of scholarships and bursaries.
The Foundation was formed in 1979 when North Vancouver Secondary School was closed. The people in charge of the monies bequeathed to the school and its students for scholarships and bursaries joined with the Kiwanis Dollars for Scholars group and formed the new Foundation, with the funds from both groups amalgamated to form the Foundation's capital.
Over the years our capital has grown through reunion donations, donations from past students and teachers, bequests and special memorial scholarship and bursary funds raised by and through the community to honour members of the North Vancouver education system. Scholarships and bursaries are awarded to deserving students graduating from high schools in North Vancouver, using the interest earned each year on the capital.
Consider Joining Our Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors have wide-ranging backgrounds, within and outside the field of education. When vacancies occur, we seek out recruits to enhance our capabilities. At this time, we are especially interested in candidates with technical abilities, particularly in the areas of document handling including mail-merge, spreadsheet familiarity, record-keeping, and social media management. If you are interested in helping us in our work, please contact us directly by telephone or e-mail and submit a recent CV or resume and ask for an Areas of Expertise survey from our Vice President, Barbara McKinley at 604-980-6468 or barbaramckinley@shaw.ca
