Jeffery P. Harbottle
Jeffery P. Harbottle was born in North Vancouver in January 1914 and lived continuously in that city. He was educated at Lonsdale Elementary School, spent two years at Kingsley Private School in North Lonsdale, and graduated from North Vancouver High School in 1931. In 1932 he entered the family milk delivery and dairy story business, which had been started by Mr. T.P. Harbottle Sr., and continued with the business until 1940. During World War II he worked at several defence projects in BC before seeing active service until the war's end.
Mr. Harbottle was always self-employed and pursued his many entrepreneurial endeavours right up to his retirement. During the 1930s he was a member of the North Vancouver Junior Board of Trade. He was a member and a director of the Central City Mission in Vancouver and chairman of the organization's Youth Committee. For a number of years in the 1970s he was associated with the BC Voluntary Youth Probation Service and for many years he was a director of the North Vancouver High School Education Foundation. He died in April 2009 at the age of 95.
