Kay Robinson

Kay Robinson was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She passed away in 2014.

Born in 1921 at Grace Hospital in Vancouver, Kay spent most of her life in Vancouver and on the North Shore. A lifelong lover of learning, she worked for many years as a teacher, beginning on Lasqueti Island and continuing in Pender Harbour and North Vancouver. She concluded her career as an elementary school librarian in Burnaby. One of her greatest joys was working with new immigrants, helping them learn English and supporting their integration into the community.

A passionate contributor to her community in West Vancouver, Kay was also an avid traveler, hiker, and gardener, as well as a dedicated Guide leader, outdoorswoman, and patron of Canadian arts and music. She especially treasured the opportunity to hike with Phyllis and David Munday during early explorations of the North Shore mountains.

Generous with her time, Kay volunteered widely and is remembered by friends and family for her unwavering support and feisty spirit.
