How does OneNote Class Notebook help learners?

#1 Formative Work

With OneNote Class Notebook, our learners can develop their formative work (reader’s responses, research, and writing prompts) in a way that feels and works much more like a notebook than a series of Google Docs posted in classroom does.

#2 Workflow

OneNote Class Notebook lets me add feedback to formative work and puts the focus on the developing work rather than a grade – as Google Docs does. Since the formative work is something they are always developing and improving upon, this is a helpful tool.  (And yes, if they didn’t do well on formative work, they are encouraged to keep trying again to raise their formative work grades.)

#3 Learning Outside the Google Apps Bubble

While Google Classroom and Google Apps remain a centerpiece of our instruction, the OneNote Class Notebook and Microsoft 365 offer learners the opportunity to expand their tech skills outside of Google.  Since technology is always changing,  experience across multiple platforms offers learners the opportunity to develop a transferrable skill - experience with multiple platforms for learning and communicating.
