What's Flash Fiction?
A work of flash fiction is an intense, short, and focused story which draws its inspiration from a work of literature and/or related research. It should also reflect an accurate and in-depth understanding of the work of literature and/or related research.

Your flash fiction summative is one document with three parts:
Part I: Reflection
In this part, you reflect on the process of writing your flash fiction piece. by explaining your inspiration and demonstrating the connection between your work of fiction and the literary work (and related research) which inspired your story.
Part II: (title of your flash fiction)
In this part, you include your work of flash fiction. It should have a clear beginning, middle and end and be no longer than 500 - 700 words. In such a focused short story, you will need to limit your characters with only one taking a lead role. And you will need to limit the action to one scene - one moment. By the conclusion, all loose ends should be tied up.
Part III: Works Cited
Create a works cited page with entries for the work of literature and any related research which served as your inspiration.
Edit & Revise
Although you will have the opportunity to create a trend through revision, take the time to edit and revise as fully as possible now. It will pay-off in the long run and save you time.
