Luke 8:1-3
Women Help Support Jesus' ministry
1 After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, 2 and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; 3 Joanna the wife of Cuza, the manager of Herod's household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.
Jesus did what He thought was right...And if one believes that He is Truth, the Absolute Truth, then what He did was always the right thing...
An interesting point of His time was that Jesus did not concern Himself with what society thought was truth and goodness, He did what He thought was Truth and Goodness...Jesus supported women, and women supported Him...
In His time it was not society's ways to have women support your ways and means -let alone a ministry...But Luke brings it to our attention that women were very much a part of His ministry and involved with His activities in different ways...Some women supported Jesus and were not only involved in His teachings, but also involved in helping with the day to day issues of His life and His ministry...Mary Magdalene from whom seven demons had come out; Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others helped Jesus...These women were helping to support Him and His Disciples out of their own means...
And as one reads the four gospels one can read about the different women in His different Parables and stories...There are many women included in His Parables throughout the gospels and lessons about the female role in His life's lessons and teachings...
This shows not only His complete independent thinking about things and what is wrong and what is right...He personally shows there is no gender gap in His grace...When it comes to God's grace, whether it be woman or man, God does not distinguish between genders...God is full of Grace and Truth for everyone...
