Luke 10:25-28
Love God With Your Mind
25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
Luke 6:39
The Blind Cannot Lead the Blind
39 He also told them this parable: "Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit?
Some say that believing in God and Jesus are not reasonable and logical...But we are supposed to use our reasoning powers and processes when we are thinking about God and seeking Him...Faith is not blind...Blind faith is not what Jesus talks about, when He is talking about God...We are to believe Jesus when we think of God...And we are to be careful who we follow, especially when you are talking about God...Who better to follow or listen to than Jesus, especially His teachings on God...
So when Jesus said to love God with all your mind, He is telling us that loving and having a relationship with God is a thoughtful process...We must use our intellect and reasoning to think about God, which is why Jesus said to use our mind...This means that seeking and finding God is a reasonable process, and a logical one...God has given us a mind and He wants us to use it in many things, and He wants us to use it in seeking Him...
