Luke 7:22
Jesus Tells of His Miracles to John the Baptist's Disciples
22 So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.
Let us say that you had never seen a Bible, and had never met Jesus yet...Now you do...What would you think of Him and would you believe in Him and would you think His miracles were Grand or just a good magician's trick?...
What if you this very day met a Traveling Teacher who could heal any blind person?...What if you met today a person by touching one who was paralyzed could heal them?...What if someone were a leper and they would want to touch them, and by doing that they would heal the leper?...What is this Traveling Teaching wanted to spend all their time with the poor and in places of low reputation?...What would you think of that Teacher?...Wouldn't you be astonished and completely amazed?...Wouldn't you want to run and tell your brothers and your friends?...Don't you think this Man would become famous?...
Today we are two thousand years removed from Jesus...We have also had the Bible around, since all the people on earth were born...Our minds want to just gloss over the great old things...Even miracles wear down and we tend to forget and are not much surprised about the old Grand Miracles...So, I think, as we read our Bibles today, we forget all about His newness and astonishing things He was doing in His time...He was quite shocking, quite amazing, quite brilliant, quite unique...He was awesome and unbelievable...He was literally unbelievable to most of the Pharisees, the teachers of the law, and the Sanhedrin...
If God were to send His Son to earth I would fully expect Him to heal the blind, heal the paralyzed, heal the lepers, heal the deaf, raise the dead, and preach the good news to the poor...After all God is God...But today, it seems like we take that for granted, and do not think of Him as Almighty...It seems in today's world the Greatness is not as Great, and He fails to astonish...We see Him more as that's okay He did that two thousand years ago, but we seem not to be astonished by His Grand Miracles...
Well this Man did become famous...And He still is alive...He sent His Holy Spirit to guide us to Him, to the Truth...And He gives us free choice to follow our conscious to the Truth or not to believe at all...It is too bad, we are not astonished anymore...
