Psalm 119:30
The Choice to Follow our LORD
30 I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws.
Luke 11:23
We are Either With Jesus or We Are Not
23 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
Each day we get up in the morning and throughout the entire day we make different choices...And in the choices we make, we are either following God or we are not...Sometimes during the day and weeks, and months, we do not even realize we are making choices, but we are...
Each day, we either choose the way of faithfulness, and put Jesus and His Father in our hearts...Each day when we choose this way of faithfulness, we include Jesus in our day...If we do not think about Him or include Him in our day, we are not with Him...He tells us that whoever is not with Him is against Him, and whoever does not gather with Him scatters...Jesus wants us to be with Him and He wants included in our lives...When we do not include Him in our day, we are easier subject to temptations and are subject to evil problems and influences...By including Jesus as a part of our daily choices and our daily lives our day, we are closer to Him and His Father...Our choices make us closer to Them...
C. S. Lewis said that there is a part of us that makes these daily choices...Lewis said this about our daily choices, “[E]very time you make a choice you are turning the central part of you, the part of you that chooses, into something a little different than it was before...And taking your life as a whole, with all your innumerable choices, all your life long you are slowly turning this central thing into a heavenly creature or a hellish creature: either into a creature that is in harmony with God, and with other creatures, and with itself, or else into one that is in a state of war and hatred with God, and with its fellow creatures, and with itself...To be the one kind of creature is heaven: that is, it is joy and peace and knowledge and power...To be the other means madness, horror, idiocy, rage, impotence, and eternal loneliness. Each of us at each moment is progressing to the one state of the other.”...
