1 John 4:8
God is LOVE
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Deuteronomy 4:29
Seeking God
29 But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Luke 10:25-28
Loving God and Loving Neighbor
25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
Luke 7:36-50
A Sinful Woman Forgiven
36 Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat. 37 And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, 38 and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. 39 Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, “This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner.”
40 And Jesus answered and said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.”
So he said, “Teacher, say it.”
41 “There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42 And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?”
43 Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.”
And He said to him, “You have rightly judged.” 44 Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. 45 You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. 46 You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. 47 Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”
48 Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50 Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
Seeking and loving God is the way to eternal life...One day and expert in the Law of Moses ask Jesus, about the way to heaven and the way to eternal life...He ask, “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”...Jesus asked Him how he read the Law of Moses on this subject...And the expert answered with a quote from Deuteronomy...He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”...Jesus told him that he was right...The answer to his question was in loving God and loving neighbor...
We often seek love in our lives…And God is LOVE…And since God is LOVE, it is natural that from time to time, and maybe many times a day, that people think about Him…That is why I think it is easy to have God on our minds and why people seek a Creator or the Source of all things…
And we should seek God…And when we seek Him, we are told we are to use our hearts and souls to find Him...When we seek God and find God, we sometimes not only find Him, but we learn more about love…Since He is LOVE, maybe He is found and faith is found (when we seek Him) through love and loving others...When we find Him, we learn that love is forgiving...And we know that God is forgiving...And forgiving is much related to love...Jesus teaches us that for us to be able to love a lot, we must be able to forgive a lot...If we only have the ability to forgive a little, we will only have the ability to love a little...
So in seeking God we find love, faith, and forgiveness...Faith and love are about forgiving...Jesus has forgiven all of us on the cross...And some of us are unforgivable...And God completely and unconditionally can forgive, the unforgivable completely...And this is LOVE, Unconditional forgiveness and Unconditional LOVE...
