Luke 11:33-36
On Hiding the Light
33"No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. 34Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. 36Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you."
Love is shared, otherwise there is no love...Life is to be shared...Let us say that you wrote the greatest book that has ever been written...Let us say, you being very smart, now have made the greatest movie ever to be made...Now let us say you have gotten smarter as you have aged and you have discovered the cure for one of our deadly diseases, and it is very inexpensive to make...Now let us say you decide to put your book, your movie, and your cure and treatment in a safety deposit box and save it, and not share it...
Jesus is our Light...He is The Light...One of the greatest things God did was to send Jesus for us (and our sins)...What Jesus did for us, was to share His teachings...He shared His knowledge of His Father to us...How sad would it have been if God never sent His Son?...How sad it would be if the great things in life were not shared?...Are there things that you possess that are often locked up and put away?...
Jesus seems to be much different than a book, a movie, and a medicine...Sharing Him is much different than sharing the last book you read, movie your seen, or medicine you took...For instance, if someone ask you about the last book you read, or movie you saw, you would probably follow up with a nice easy answer...If you want to share your ideas about Jesus, do you have trouble, and maybe stutter, freeze a little, and feel a little unnatural about sharing Him and your faith?...
It would be a great tragedy if the greatest books, the greatest movies, the greatest medicines were hidden, and locked away...How would we enjoy the great things of the world if only one, or if you were the only who could see it and enjoy it...It would be a bigger tragedy if the disciples and followers of Jesus would not have carried on His teachings...A book is meant to be read by others...A movie is meant to be seen by others...A medicine is meant to heal others...A lamp is meant to be seen...The Light must be seen and heard...Jesus' word was meant to be shared, heard, and studied by not only the Twelve, but by others...How can anything be shared with others, if not by us?...When you share the Light with others, you help and give others God's word...You show and share with others how Jesus has affected your life...When you share the Light, you produce good fruit..
