JBCAS Judge Advocate General (JAG) Office
The Joint Base Cabot Air Station (JBCAS) Legal Services Office provides comprehensive legal support to base leadership, military personnel, civilian employees, and authorized dependents.

Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Liaison Office - JBCAS
NCIS Field Liaison Office - Joint Base Cabot Air Station
The NCIS Field Liaison Office at JBCAS supports national security, counterintelligence, and criminal investigative efforts across Navy and Marine Corps activities on and near the installation.
Primary NCIS Mission Areas:
Counterintelligence Investigations and Support
Criminal Investigations (felony-level offenses involving Navy/Marine Corps personnel)
Counterterrorism and Force Protection Operations
Insider Threat Detection and Analysis
Liaison with Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies
Responsibilities at JBCAS:
Support investigations involving transient Navy and Marine Corps personnel visiting the base for exercises, flight operations, or tenant activities.
Assist with security assessments for high-risk events (e.g., airshows, VIP visits).
Conduct threat awareness briefings for leadership and personnel.

Security Forces - JBCAS Installation Law Enforcement
The Security Forces Squadron (SFS) at JBCAS provides 24/7 law enforcement, base security, and force protection operations for all personnel, assets, and facilities.

Assistance for Disturbances, Accidents, and Emergency Situations

Base Traffic Reminders:
All drivers must carry a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and vehicle registration.
Seat belts are mandatory at all times.
Handheld device use while driving is prohibited unless utilizing hands-free equipment.
Base Tax Center - Joint Base Cabot Air Station
The JBCAS Tax Center provides free federal and state income tax preparation services for eligible personnel during the annual tax filing season (January–April).
Eligibility:
Active Duty members and dependents
Retirees and surviving spouses (space available)
Services Offered:
Federal and state return preparation
Electronic filing (e-file)
Basic tax consultation and refund estimation
IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program certified staff
Required Documents:
Military ID card
W-2s, 1099s, 1098s, prior year tax return
Social Security Cards for all family members claimed

The JBCAS Legal Office provides expanded legal services beyond basic assistance, supporting command-directed legal actions, courts-martial, and administrative proceedings.
Expanded Services Include:
Courts-martial prosecution and defense assistance
Nonjudicial Punishment (Article 15) advisement
Administrative discharges and separation actions
Victim and Witness Assistance Program (VWAP) support
Ethics reviews for base leadership and contract activities
