Aircrew Flight Equipment (AFE) - Joint Base Cabot Air Station

The Aircrew Flight Equipment (AFE) Section ensures that all aircrew members are properly outfitted with mission-essential survival equipment, protective gear, and life support systems.

Core Services:

• Flight helmet fitting and maintenance

• Anti-G flight suits and pressure garment inspections

• Survival vests and life raft maintenance

• Parachute packing, inspection, and storage

• Chemical protective gear issue and training

Aircrew Responsibility:

• All assigned flyers must complete initial AFE indoctrination briefings.

• Equipment re-inspections are mandatory every 180 days or upon deployment.
