Munitions Storage Area (MSA)

The JBCAS Munitions Storage Area (MSA) ensures safe storage, inspection, maintenance, and delivery of all ordnance in support of flying operations and mission readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accountability and inventory of conventional and training munitions

• Loading and unloading of inert and live ordnance for assigned aircraft

• Compliance with explosives safety standards and quantity-distance (QD) requirements

• Coordination with Airfield Operations and Security Forces for ordnance movements

Ordnance Handling Notes:

• Only certified personnel (AFSC/MOS qualified) are permitted to handle explosives.

• Restricted areas are clearly marked and access is strictly controlled.

JBCAS Weapons Training Complex (WTC)

The JBCAS Weapons Training Complex (WTC) provides certified weapons qualification, live-fire training, and tactical marksmanship instruction for all assigned personnel.

Core Services:

• Annual Weapons Qualification (M4, M9, shotgun, etc.)

• Pre-Deployment Weapons Proficiency Training

• Combat Marksmanship Sustainment Courses

• Aircrew Survival Weapon Familiarization (for isolated personnel recovery ops)

• Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) Active Shooter Response Drills

Range Facilities:

• 25-Meter Small Arms Qualification Range

• 100-Meter Tactical Engagement Range

• Shoothouse (Simulated Building Clearing Operations)

• Night Fire Training Capability (NVD qualified events)

Safety Requirements:

• Mandatory Range Safety Officer (RSO) supervision during live-fire

• Hearing and eye protection required at all times

• Strict adherence to Weapons Handling and Range Safety Protocols (Red Line Rules)

Special Training Programs:

• Quarterly Base Defender Marksmanship Competitions

• Annual Base-Wide Shooting Challenge (Open to Security Forces, Fire, and select units)
