"Been working 'round the clock lately, getting the colony back in shape after the attack the other day. I guess almost every major colony in Outer Kyrnomacek was also hit by similar attacks, and while we didn't lose any systems, we are getting a variety of disturbing stories from these attacks. In summary: the Threshers cannot differentiate between civilian and combatant, and the stuff I've heard could have happened at Seimoria if Basil's armada didn't show up. According to him, the Threshers that hit his system were disorganized by the sudden appearance of a massive object (you know who I mean), allowing Basil to swiftly chase the raiders away. At least this whole thing means the central government is taking recon seriously from now on."
"To complicate things further, a Hagbeadi hyperspace lane was discovered in the northern Gergosphere, giving the bastards direct access to Outer Kyrnomacek. Thresher forces can only launch mere incursions into Kyrnomacek lands like what happened earlier, Hagbeadi are capable of so much more, especially now that they have an open front right at our back door. I've been told that my services may be required in the near future, which would be an honor if I wasn't already running a colony close to this new front. By Jim, its been so stressful, and ol' Basil is too. He's been trying to hide it beneath that wrestling mask and polite front, but I know he's cracking under all this pressure. I've told him to perhaps write a series of logs like this, but he has so much to do that he doesn't have the time. Maybe this is the Hagbeadi plan to crush us, to overwork us so we can't think right in combat."
"Speaking of Basil, I met the strangest fellow today. While probing for Apophis' location, a fellow who couldn't have been older than 20 manifested in the room despite the security measures put in place. Thinking that this was just Apophis fucking with me, I told him that the pub is closed (they're still cleaning Thresher fluids and debris there). The lad shook his head and went to the console, telling me that if I was tracking something conscious, I should be using the flip-flop communication lines to pinpoint the exact location of said consciousness, no calculus or hyper-radar needed. Reluctantly, I reluctantly took this advice and a point appeared on the map a few minutes later, moving around the location Basil confronted his Thresher raid. How did I not think of that? When I went to question him, he simply asked for Basil's location and I gave it to him before witnessing him leave, clipping through the walls in a way I found smug. As of writing this, he's bumped into his intended contact as well as Scarlet, who is thankfully not a vegetable anymore. Maybe this fellow will be useful to us in the future..."
